Some of the meanest children I have known have mean parents whose affection is withdrawn, the parent. Doesn’t bully them and they may shower them with things, but often the child notices that their parent bullies peers and they seek to emulate that so they can be embraced
If your child is a bully, you failed as a parent.

So for me it’s futile to inform the parent that their child is mean spirited, they know.. they don’t even see it as a failure.. they will make excuses but watch them long enough and you will see where the kid picks it up from.

The fundamental failure of parents in our generation was not telling kids that childhood is a privilege that is maintained for the most part by them acting as children,in the criminal system you cease being a child, society will bury like you so fast-the moment you become a threat

She is overextending herself to demonstrate how money was never a deterrent to her being with him but by centering it, it is having the opposite effect. Rule of talking about any relationship you love to a public audience is centering what you love and enjoy about it.
Some things should remain between the people who know.

He gave her her dowry and told her so. Alafu huyo akaja kutuambia. Hapo ndipo shida iko. If he had just given her a bunch of money and told here go start life this would be non-issue, even if she had said it publicly. Dowry is not any other money.

We really need more transport capacity besides the dramatic road between Nairobi and Mombasa. The trains are full, the planes are largely full and the prices are atrocious.

The husband’s acknowledgment would have been read as a type of reciprocity. “I valued his support enough to want it to be a matter of public record.” We could, of course have another conversation about women's families, wealth transfer and the economic foundations of marriage…

If the husband had been the one to share that tidbit, it would have landed as a respectful public recognition of his father-in-law’s supererogatory (above and beyond) generosity. Ile kusema “ it was not lost on me.” and he would have known not to say that it was the dowry.

There was nothing wrong in her father, choosing to support them to set up their home. In the past a bride would be sent off to her husband with her bridal endowment. Funny enough, it would’ve landed completely different had it been the husband sharing. But babes ako na 👅 kìhīī

Her father correctly determined that they needed the money. The gesture meant a lot ot them. That is what she was trying to communicate. She just didn’t factor in that by sharing this she would be opening her husband up to public scorn and ridicule. TAHIRI ULIMI DADA.

The key problem here is kuongea sana. Wanandoa wanapenda sana kutupea “their love story” na inakuwanga tu mchomo.

Reaganomics was ensuring working class got stuck into death trap underclass-USA. Great Recession severed blue-collar workers from (lower) middle class to join poverty downward spiral. Post-Pandemic/AI USA is about PMC/white-collar/upper middle class crashing downward now too.
