Gyokeres looks like a top player in UCL and in internationals. This is due to his ability to physically dominate in those matches.
The issue is he doesn’t have the technical ability or the attacking IQ to shine when he is physically inferior. Which is why he stinks in the PL.

🚨EXCL: Sanctioning process for PL v Man City #115 has already proceeded.
Parties awaiting the outcome of Man City’s ‘Section X’ appeal, against full publication until after its Section W appeal.
Hearing took place 2 weeks ago. If City unsuccessful, sanctions will be imminent.
I hope we rotate all 3. We shouldn’t run Gabriel into the ground just because he’s our only “LCB”
I am happy to acknowledge some of our players aren’t world class.
I’d go even further and say a number of these guys aren’t even that good. However you have to admit Arteta IS at a MINIMUM world class.
He is top 5 of all time and could end his career as undisputed number 1.
Yeah we’ve played away from home in 10 of our first 15 games of the season. It only makes sense then that we will have a run of home games. It just so happens there are also a lot of london based teams in the league.
I’m sorry but Arteta is remarkable. His defensive numbers aren’t particularly surprising although it should be acknowledged he is significantly ahead of everyone else. It’s the attack that’s impressive when you consider the forward players he’s had access to. Incredible.
I’ve already said I sympathise with Dowman surrounding the red card.
However I also believe this is a perfect learning opportunity for Max. Arteta is perfectly within his rights to publicly discipline him.
At least 2 horror challenges on Dowman tonight. His reaction was fully justified after the ref failed to give him any protection all game.
Omg Viktor Gyökeres has just done the best thing he’s EVER done in an Arsenal shirt. Great assist. Great finish from Rice.
Saka is my favourite ever Arsenal player. He represents our club perfectly.
But if these injuries continue and he can’t recover his best form then he simply can not continue to be the focal point of our attack. It’s unsustainable.
Football and its injuries are so cruel.
The Champions League is in a pretty dark place. UEFA allowed both City and PSG to get away with breaking all their rules. However PSG won’t be facing domestic action like City because the French league now solely survives because of PSG.
UCL is becoming a one team tournament.
Counter argument: City have the best players in the world and their only real weakness over the years has been complacency. Every game being hotly contested could spur them on.
