humbled that my book received Honorable Mention for the MLA Prize for Contingent Faculty and Independent Scholars Winners. Grateful to the MLA for celebrating the work of us non-tenure track folks and to @UIowaPress for being a dream home for my work!
Congratulations to all of the winners of MLA publication prizes! Join us in celebrating them at the #mla25 Awards Ceremony in New Orleans (Friday, 10 January at 7 p.m. CST). mla.org/Resources/Career/MLA…

improbably, I wrote about @TheTraitorsUS (specifically, my queen Pavarti Shallow) and @RyanGosling 's Ken! ⬇️

Happy #TSTTPD day to all who celebrate. Some thoughts: 1. “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” is a bop for the high-functioning depressed girlies and, in TS’s own words, I feel so seen. 2. It’s not *Poetry*but, the woman writes damn good/catchy lyrics (see: chorus of “Down Bad)

3. The exception to #2 is the Travis songs with terrible lyrics. @NoraPrinciotti tweeting “revoke the lombardi” will live rent free in my head forever. No notes. I am PSYCHED for the new Every Single Album! 4. 2 students messaged this morning to discuss it which just 😢❤️

And 5. To be clear, the fact that her football songs are kinda bad is amazing and I love that for her and for them. “He can ball / I know Aristotle” is insane. and I, a huge nerd, also married a very lovable, happy jock.

ICYMI - my piece on @TheBearFX dropped last week! One of my favorite things I've ever written!
Writing about “The Bear,” Alexandra J. Gold (@agold258) argues that “the show’s obsession with time—as yardstick, menace, instigator, and pulse—transforms it into an essential character that defines the show on a diegetic level as much an affective one.” lareviewofbooks.org/article/…
