Imagine being taken from your land, losing your name, and knowing you could never go back.
The one thing you hold on to is the Ramayana.
Between 1834 and 1917, more than a million Indians were taken across the kala pani by the British as indentured labourers.
Many died during the journey. Those who reached the other side were forced to work in the sugarcane fields, often beaten and jailed when they resisted.
There was no home left behind them, and no way to return.
What they did have was the Ramcharitmanas. Night after night, they sang it.
Rama’s exile lasted fourteen years. Theirs stretched across generations. Still, they carried him with them.
Today, Diwali is a public holiday in Fiji, Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, and Mauritius, the countries their labour helped build.
In Fiji, people still gather every week in Ramayan mandalis to sing the Ramcharitmanas.
In Trinidad, the lights stay on for nine nights at Divali Nagar.
In Guyana, the streets fill with Diwali motorcades.
Their grandchildren still greet one another with “Sita Ram.”
They know the worth of a story that travelled with them across the ocean, even as many back home are being taught to set it aside.🫶🏻

🔻 $50K - MY EXTENDED BEARISH TARGET! 🎯
IF BITCOIN LOSES THE $62K SUPPORT ZONE, I BELIEVE A MOVE TOWARD $50K BECOMES A REAL POSSIBILITY!
Of course, a sustained recovery above $81K could challenge my bearish outlook.
