Yesterday: Uganda Launches ATESHHU Project to Eliminate Mother-to-Child Transmission.
The Ministry of Health, together with partners, launched the Accelerating the Elimination of Vertical Transmission of HIV, Syphilis and Hepatitis B in Uganda (ATESHHU) Project, (commonly knows us the Triple Elimination)
Funded by The People’s Republic of China through ANECCA, the two-year project will be implemented in the Busoga and Bunyoro regions, strengthening efforts to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B.
The project will support improved access to integrated prevention, testing, treatment and care services for pregnant women, mothers and their babies, while strengthening health systems and community-level interventions.
The launch demonstrates commitment to working with partners to ensure that every mother and child can access quality health services and that no child is born with a preventable infection.
At the official the Ministry of Health was represented by the Program
Manager for the Aids Control Program Dr. @RobertMutumba.
