my brain is 10% product strategy and 90% useless internet facts the 10% made me a 2x founder, a16z mentor and product + growth lead for entertainment and tech brands the 90% is why every group chat has one person who knows too much. it's me. i'm them so i built a league for us: 6 daily games at @fanonclub, with @brave, roc nation + more coming building it all in public with ai. every win, every flop. follow along

Mark Cuban's advice for young people boils down to "there's gonna be two types of companies: those who are great at AI and those who have gone out of business." "And then there's two types of people in how they use AI: those who use AI to learn anything, and those who use AI so they don't have to learn anything." "And if you're one of those people who uses AI so that you can learn anything, and you realize what type of companies and problems aren't being solved by AI, don't be shy to just talk to your AI." "And I say this not just to kids, but to 50 60, 70-year-old entrepreneurs. The biggest challenge right now with entrepreneurs using AI is the comfort level of talking to your AI... there's still a lot of hesitancy." "Just like back in the day, those first spreadsheets, people still had their 10-key adding machine, and they would check it to make sure the spreadsheets were right." "So when you ask me, is there one thing I truly believe, it's everything. Everything will change. This is the greatest transitional technology we have ever seen, and I've been around for all of them, right? This blows them all away." @mcuban @julesyoo @eriktorenberg
Mark Cuban scaled Cost Plus Drugs from about 100 generics to roughly 4,000 at a flat 15% markup, forcing incumbents to change prices in ways decades of policy never did. He thinks AI could transform healthcare, but it won't fix opaque prices and broken incentives on its own. Mark sits down with a16z's Julie Yoo and Erik Torenberg to discuss what he's learned building Cost Plus Drugs, why trust is its core product, and how greater transparency could put pressure on healthcare costs. They also explore why drugs designed for your DNA could cost close to nothing, the football field-sized drug plant his team shrank into tractor trailer-sized pods, his plan to make generics in Dallas for less than he pays manufacturers in India, and why every company will either be great at AI or go out of business. 0:50 Cost Plus beat decades of policy 3:15 111 generics to 4,000 drugs 5:00 A drug plant shrunk to 5K sq ft 5:55 $20M drug factories in a trailer 8:10 Hospital deals with zero denials 9:50 Why health plans are rigged 14:05 1,335 pages no human can check 18:35 "Where are they f**king me over?" 22:45 Making drugs cheaper than India 26:50 Why you still need entry-level hires 31:45 Nonprofit hospitals must offer aid 35:55 DNA-matched drugs for near $0 39:30 Why AI will mean more doctors 48:00 Mark's plan: "bye bye insurers" 52:25 Why AI labs' ads are useless 56:35 Get good at AI or go out of business YouTube: youtu.be/5UWDUD6qaM4 @mcuban @julesyoo @eriktorenberg

even imaginary employees aren’t allowed to work from home 💀
I called an all hands meeting with my Grok Bots and asked what kind of office they'd want to work in. A few hours later they'd built it themselves... It's a live view of my actual team. When a bot gets a task, it walks to its desk and gets to work. When two of them need to coordinate, they walk over to each other's desks or meet in the lounge. When someone has something for Alfred, my chief of staff, they walk into his office and hand it off in person. Is any of this necessary? No. But watching the work get done is weirdly satisfying. I think it's because we've always pictured work happening in an office, with a team. Want one for your own bots? Comment "office" and I'll send you the prompt my team wrote so yours can build one too.

new visitors give you about 10 secs they’re asking: 1 what is this? 2 is it for me? 3 why should I care? 4 what to do next? if they have to watch a video demo to understand, you’ve assigned homework to someone who came here to avoid work ☠️

i've spent an unhealthy amount of time on agentic video editing, here's everything i learned: video editing is 100% solved. we're pushing out hundreds of videos a day with agents and have replaced almost all of our editors drop every limiting belief you have about agentic editing, any style of creative is possible here are the best models for video editing right now: 1. GPT 6 Astra (best taste by far, but also the most expensive) 2. Opus 5.5 3. Gemini 4 Argon the best all around model is Opus 5.5 and don't waste your time on editing app MCPs like CapCut or DaVinci Resolve. they're slow and burn a ton of tokens compared to a custom workflow built for your specific use case all editing is moving to the terminal + organized file systems the most valuable (and most time consuming) part is having your best editors train your harness so it learns from its mistakes and can one-shot creatives your best editor becomes 100x more leveraged once you teach them how to use Opus 5.5 in their workflow and build skills around their process in 6 months most teams will be 1 creative engineer managing everything with agents what a time to be alive..
A few thoughts on agentic video editing I’ve had over the last few days: 1. 99% of ads should be edited agentically now. If your editors are still editing in the timeline, they’re falling behind. I got a message from my senior VE saying that he’s putting out 5x edits/day now at the same quality he was before. 2. The conversation with video editors will be uncomfortable because the timeline is all they’ve ever known. Some will be hesitant and some will be fearful for their job. I think the best way to address this is head on. The tech is inevitable, but having taste is still going to be incredibly valuable to train and give feedback to agents. Those who have this will become more valuable, those who don’t will struggle. 3. Opus 5.5 can natively edit all of your ads without needing any MCPs or plugins. I’ve tried the alternatives and couldn’t find anything that was significantly better than doing everything inside of Claude. 4. Have your senior editor(s) build skills for each style of edit (e.g. mashups, UGC, AI animations…). You can build these by feeding 4-5 inspo edits to Claude and tell it to make a skill out of it. I prefer building lots of mini-skills to one big video editing skill, so that the context stays as relevant as possible. 5. Once you have a base skill (e.g. ugly ads edits), the best way to train it is through feedback loops. Have the skill re-edit the last 25 ads each senior edited then put them in an artifact, and have the senior VE give feedback on each. Keep doing this until the skill is refined and it understands what a good edit is. 6. If you do this, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to make edits that need little/no feedback. Most of ours are approved after v1 or v2, sometimes v3. 7. Only A-player editors should be training the skills. 8. Re adoption in the team, the AI champion builds the v1. Then get out of the way. I’m not the best editor on my team, so my job is to build the harness that lets the best editors train the skills, not build the skills myself. 9. If you want to supercharge this process, have your top editors record their screen as they edit. Turn on Gmeet or loom and get them to narrate the reasoning behind their process. E.g. why they chose this cut, pacing or b-roll clip…this is all context that gets fed into your skills. 10. It takes time to build, train and refine these skills. You have to go through the dip to get out the other side. Budget time in for senior VEs to work on this - otherwise you’ll end up with skills that put out subpar edits and don’t save you much/any time. 11. Operate under the assumption that this is the worst video editing is ever going to be. Opus 5.5 can do most of our editing today…what will Opus 6/Fable 6 be able to do? The editing skills you build are only going to become more valuable as the tech evolves. I still don’t think people realise how big video editing being unblocked is. Things that I thought were 3-6 months away are now on the table. Will continue to share more as I learn. CRAZY, crazy times.

This is good advice and scary at the same time
At some point in the next year, you're probably going to have to email your customers and tell them you got hacked. I've watched a lot of CEOs write that email, and almost all of them wrote it in a state of panic, not thinking clearly, a few hours after finding out that they were hacked. This…isn’t ideal, as it’s the first thing anyone looks at if this situation ever turns into a lawsuit. So here's how to write a breach email properly, so you have it before you need it. First, I beg you. Write a template now and get it approved by your lawyer. That way, when your world is on fire, all you have to do is fill in the details, instead of having to write it from scratch in the heat of the moment. When a breach does happen, send the email to your customers, quickly. Most CEOs either wait for perfect information or play it down and hope customers never find out. But in my experience, customers find out just about every time, and the companies that hid it ended up far worse off than the ones that were upfront. Legally, what matters most is just telling people a breach happened. You don't need every detail to do that. In the email itself, keep it to what you actually know about what happened/what you're doing about it. The rule your lawyers will care about most is that you never publish anything you might have to take back later. That doesn't necessarily mean saying as little as possible though! You're walking a line between not retracting anything, not sounding cold, and making your customers feel like you're on their side and someone they can trust. The right phrases help a lot with that. I tell people to use ones like "out of an abundance of caution" or "purely as a precautionary measure." Obviously they sound corporate, but they let you notify people early without committing to a scope you'll have to walk back later. "As soon as we were notified, we took steps to further protect your account" shows you moved right away, and "we will continue to monitor the situation closely" tells people more updates are coming. And a lot of what CEOs instinctively want to write works against them. "There's no evidence your data was misused" and "only a small number of customers were affected" sound reassuring, but you probably don't know either one for sure yet, and if you're wrong, you'll have to retract it, which causes a whole new set of problems. "This was a highly sophisticated attack" sounds like an excuse, and it makes things really awkward if it turns out to be something simple. "We apologize for any inconvenience" treats a breach like a small annoyance, which it obviously isn't. And something like "we take your security very seriously" is in just about every breach notification email these days, so nobody believes it anymore. The key is making sure your email doesn't read like a script. Use these phrases, but write it the way a person would (it needs at least a little life!), and make it at least a little unique so people feel heard and can tell you're taking it seriously. Canned language comes across very cold, so avoid this. Make sure your support team has a party line ready, so everyone's giving the same answers and no one is contradicting anyone else. I'll put an example of a really good breach email in the replies if you want it. Save this so you have it when you need it, because with everything going on right now, you likely will. Later this week, I’ll share more of the breach response process, so follow me with notifications if you don’t want to miss it.

Experiment 1: (Last week) Grok designs UI, and handoff to Claude to build front end. - Grok does really much nicer UI design, but miss some product info (3/5) - Lots of mistakes / misses in the handoff files (2/5) - Claude ends up building UI that looks 70% to the design, making own decisions for the rest. (3/5) Experiement 2 (This week) Grok designs UI, get repo access, builds the front end, checks with Claude and ships directly. - UI design is still nice on Grok, slightly better product knowledge since it now has direct GH access. (4/5) - Still misses half the spec/prompt given (3/5) - Front end code now looks 80% close to the design (4/5) sssslightly improved, we continue to tweak this partnership between models 😭😭😭 lmk how you've made design to code handoffs between models work more seamlessly?
