Hi! Morning Consult is eliminating its newsroom. That's a real bummer, I worked there!
Looks like it is also discontinuing the Tech Brief newsletter, which I wrote daily for an audience of 12,000 (and growing).
That sucks!

Brother “electable” does have a definition. Barnes, who I like, lost a state-wide election to an anti-vax, white nationalist, 9/11 truther and just took 6th out of 7 candidates in a party straw poll. My understanding of being “electable” is that it means you win elections!

This dude did an entire special broadcast of his show to talk about how weak Giannis was for blocking him, then turns around and blocks people for saying maybe it’s fucked up to call a 20 year old a “bust” for getting cancer treatment.
I hate Giannis' involvement with Kalshi. Prediction markets are a plague, should be outlawed. But I need this conspiracy explained to me. Do y'all think his stake is tied to trading volume on bets involving him, or that he's getting paid by Kalshi to do market manipulation?

You can't fool me, man. I've seen Contact, I know what that is.

"There is being first, and being right." My man, you are regularly neither! Round 2.

Once again, this is unfortunately exactly how info typically moves. I share the stuff that I can verify.
You are welcome to draw your own conclusions. But there is being first, and being right. I try and leverage the relationships I have to share info that falls into the latter.
Take these guys at their word, they are saying what they mean: If the truth is incompatible with their reality, they will discard it, and they expect you to do the same.

In summation, I don’t believe modern American media is capable of covering the United States as a force for good in the world and that seems like a hugely seismic reality that will continue to have massive negative implications on all stories in the country.
From my conversation with ousted FTC commissioner Alvaro Bedoya and Protect Democracy's Jared Davidson:

If it weren't for the tariffs, this would be one of the biggest stories in the world right now. From Bloomberg economist @D_W_Wilcox:
Thanks for everything, king.
@Bucks put his number in the rafters.

"We're not a bank!" Zuck, you literally tried to launch your own currency.
Not exactly a rebuff of the critique that the healthcare industry is increasingly a profit-driven racket, bud!
"The real crime is his hypocrisy." Okay, man.

imo it's explainable UHC killer is "anti-capitalist" and a Tucker Carlson/Musk/Thiel follower. They all position themselves as anti-establishment. Of course they don't want to tear down systems of oppression; they want to control them. But plenty of followers don't see that part.
