i love seeing pure genuine ai excitement posts like this, it makes me excited reading this too. and the ai keeps getting better, so many opportunities.
The last time I felt this excited about game development was the mid 90s when I got hold of a PS1 dev kit and the world of accelerated 3D gaming became real.
Agentic workflows unlock possibilities we could only dream of 12 months ago. It’s not just 20x velocity, it is higher quality. We’re only just beginning to grasp what the future will look like.
I feel completely obsessed again. Like a kid at Christmas.
this is darn right cool
We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math.
It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training.
We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵

before you give away free AI credits:
- rate limit by IP and device, not just account
- flag sudden spikes in signups
- give new accounts smaller limits
- have a kill switch to stop free usage instantly
otherwise you might wake up to 5k new users and a $40k bill lol
we lost $4k overnight 😭
woke up to 5.5k+ signups thinking we FINALLY went viral
turns out someone made thousands of fake accounts to drain our free AI credits.
even email verification didn't stop them lol
and what did they use all those credits for?? a WHOLE short drama series
and the part that actually pisses me off?
it was REALLY good
how am i even supposed to be mad at this lmaoo

If you a millenial who loved The Next Generation and miss Patrick Stewart, I highly recommend watching Picard season 3.
I saw it years ago and it's the proper ending this crew deserves. Very grateful to @TerryMatalas and folks for making it.
You don't need to watch season 1 and 2, just go straight to season 3.
The InterContinental Miami just traded for a reported ~$300M.

- Buyers: Gencom with Miami's White Bridge Capital, their third hotel deal together in a year
- Seller: Strategic Hotels & Resorts, owned by China's Dajia Insurance
- Works out to about $460K a key
rest in peace captain

❗️ Cargo thieves have stolen more than $100M in hardware bound for US data centers since June, NBC News reports.
They hijack freight-broker accounts, post fake loads and send carriers malware links to take over their accounts too.
In one of the biggest heists, an SUV struck the security escort of a trailer carrying ~$10M in server rack components from California to Texas.
The trailer sped off. An app was tracking it, but its coordinates had apparently been spoofed.
In another, a sedan hit the off-duty police escorts of a $13M server load bound for Georgia, and the trailer drove on.
None of the equipment from either load has been found.
Anthropic has more cash and cash equivalents than Amazon… I don’t understand why people keep spreading fearmongering FUD about Anthropic going bankrupt.
58/ Cash and funding
Money raised: ~$140B in cash from 2023 through H1'26 (preferred stock + convertible notes + SAFEs, per the S-1 cash flow statements). $110B of that came in H1'26 alone, including the $65.2B Series H.
Cash left at 6/30/26: $112.4B cash & equivalents + $19.3B short-term investments = ~$132B (plus $2.5B restricted cash).
Additional capacity: $15B undrawn revolver (expanded Sep'26), and up to $77B of partner note facilities (Google $20B, Amazon $15B tied to compute milestones, Broadcom $42B only to pay lease rent). IPO proceeds come on top.
How that compares (cash & liquid investments at 6/30/26, gross, before debt):
Alphabet: $242B
Anthropic: $132B
Amazon: $123B
Meta: $90B
Microsoft: $77B
Tencent: ~$75B (RMB511B)
Alibaba: ~$70B (RMB475B)
Anthropic is holding more cash than Amazon, Meta or Microsoft. But SpaceXAI alone runs ~$37B a year from Dec'26, against ~$780-810B of total compute commitments.
While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected.
Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions.
Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent.
But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models?
We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem.

The most mind blowing stat we've seen so far is this:
"As of June 30, 2026, we had raised an aggregate of $141.1 billion of capital and had cash and cash equivalents of $112.4 billion and short-term investments of $19.3 billion."
That means to date, they have burned 9.7b, they are growing at a rapid pace, and are profitable on an operating income basis as of the June quarter! This is likely the most efficient scaling of a business in the history of capitalism.

I'm not sure a lot of people understand what game coders actually do. We're not spending 9 hours a day finely hand crafting artisan software and expressing our inner dreams... 90% of the time we are fighting compilers and existing architecture, having to work out how undocumented code works, and tracking down obscure bugs and behavioural issues.
Most of game programming is just difficult, tedious, laborious grunt work, and the cognitive load we have to endure to get anything done is tiring and frustrating. No game coder is doing it for this 90% of the job.
We make games because the 10% that IS actually about making things fun and expressing ourselves is so incredibly rewarding it makes the other 90% bearable.
Now imagine if there was a tool, some kind of AI agent maybe, which could do most of the 90% grunt work for you, leaving you to just make all the decisions and express your creativity. How amazing would that be. How completely revolutionary would that be.

WAIT… Kimi K3.1 Pro became so good at exploiting vulnerabilities that Moonshot had to NERF its hacking capabilities before releasing the weights.
> removed cyber data from training and RL
> exploit success rate went from 90.5% to 81%
> it’s still more than DOUBLE its predecessor’s 33.3%
but they actually plan to INCREASE the cyber capabilities in future models. from the blog:
“First, we aim not to release open weights that would extend the absolute frontier of cyber capability. K3.1 Pro's offensive cyber capability is, by design, below what our pipeline can produce, and remains behind that of frontier proprietary models. Second, we intend to progressively raise the cyber capability available in open weights. We believe making K3.1 Pro available in a non-discriminatory way benefits people who need dual-use capabilities for defensive purposes. When a capable model is open and runs on infrastructure its users control, many more teams gain the means to audit the code they maintain — including legacy systems that rarely receive dedicated security reviews. We believe that letting this capability diffuse gradually — rather than concentrating it in a few proprietary systems — ultimately makes all software more secure.”
