True, so long as you don't count Matthew, John, Peter, Paul, and His brothers James and Jude.
BIBLE FACT: Not a single author of the new testament ever met Jesus.

Dale, there is no such thing as a Christian warlord.
If you wonder how men like Hitler and Franco came to power—it’s moments like these. When moderate men fail, extreme men rise. Somewhere in Spain is a young, intense Christian warlord waiting for his moment. I’m praying for him.

We often find it easier to weep with a brother who weeps than it is to rejoice with those who rejoice because we don't envy their sorrow.

Historian Tom Holland: The ancient world was incredibly cruel. Most modern secular people do not realize how much they have absorbed a Christian worldview. Concepts like the rule of law and human rights do not go back to the Greek or Roman philosophers. They go back to the New Testament. Most of us no longer realize the ripple effects of the New Testament, and we just take them for granted. youtube.com/watch?v=AIJ9gK47…

"You can ignore reality. But you can't ignore the consequences of ignoring reality". - Thomas Sowell
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is often attributed to Thomas Sowell, but it’s actually a modified version of a statement by philosopher and author Ayn Rand. The original quote from Ayn Rand reads: “We can ignore reality, but we cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.” newideal.aynrand.org/the-quotable-a…

"The storyline of the early church turns on opposition and oppression. This same Peter writes, “Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you” (1 Pet. 4:12).

For now, deluded by American history, we’re prone to think it strange. We are surprised. “Give us our country back!” But angry, desperate reactions only show how out of step we are with the tenor of the New Testament.

Entitlement and resentment reveal a heart foreign to the reality of “a better country, that is, a heavenly one” (Heb. 11:16)." - David Mathis, Think It Not Strange

Being pro-abortion should be as politically toxic as being pro-slavery. It should be impossible to get elected taking that barbaric position. If it isn't, then we're failing in the fight for the culture. Put another way, the problem isn't that we're "too pro-life." It's that our culture is passionately pro-death. The culture — not our conviction that all human life is sacred — must change.

🧵 Very good
We often look at previous generations and are baffled at their blind spots, failings, and hypocrisies. How could what is obvious to us not be to them? Then I ask: what are our blind spots that future generations will baffled by? I am increasingly convinced of one answer:
