This reminds me: I was just at an autoshop in North Carolina getting my shocks replaced and there were multiple copies of This Is Why They Hate Us lying around. I asked them about it and the owner said "yeah it was our book club book, we all loved it." Idk, it was pretty cute.

It’s impossible, of course, to undo the decades of human + enviro exposure to #PFAS. But researchers say it isn’t too late to stop making the problem worse. This story grapples with how hard it will be to get to a PFAS-free future -- especially when $$ is involved.

Inhance fluorinates more than 200 million plastic items every year. It doesn’t publicly disclose its customers -- but guess what I found? Those items touch virtually every facet of the US economy, and end users include some of the world’s most recognizable consumer brands.

The EPA traced the contamination to a sole U.S. company: Inhance Technologies. You’ve surely never heard of it or its process, buried deep in the supply chain, but it's been “fluorinating” bottles -- as in, exposing them to fluorine gas, for 40 years.

My latest for @BW is a narrative investigation into a company that transformed the plastics industry -- and what happened when its signature manufacturing process was found to generate the worst of the worst #PFAS, aka “forever chemicals”: tinyurl.com/3xp7bhfb

NYC is in a state of emergency due to flooding. An almost entirely indigenous and immigrant workforce will be getting food and goods to people—once again—amidst crisis.
This is extremely dangerous work. We *must* formally acknowledge thru law and policy.

A wise person once said that you will experience climate change through a series of increasingly wild videos, until you are the one taking the video.

so grateful to every member of the negotiating committee, every wga employee, every wga member, every union that marched with us, and even that guy in the picket line who—when it was just the two of us—chose to listen to a podcast instead of talking to me. him too.

This was such a great way to spend a Saturday, curled up on the couch with book and cat (much sweeter than the one in the book!). While the romance was wonderful, all the relationships—family, friends, mentor—make this a stand-out. Not to mention bringing this ancient time alive!

Juanito shared this pic from the Chateau @SteMichelle winery. He's proud of his union contract & all the benefits he receives including 17 paid holidays. He encourages consumers when they lift their wine glasses this weekend to say cheers w/Chateau Ste Michelle wine. #WeFeedYou
