The wild part is people see team principals admit to pressuring race control & bowing to a driver's clan to change the car, but think we George fans are "brainless" for calling out favoritism after a season ruined by endless issues on all fronts.

...am I the only one just discovering that:
Mercedes not only lacked new chassis parts for replacement on Russell's car,
they also were missing sensors
and the floor wasn't fully repaired?

Why does the F1 broadcast air Antonelli’s team radio claiming there’s something wrong with his car, even though his engineer and the race data showed there was nothing wrong with it, but not Russell’s team radio when he was actually having problems with his car?

George Russell hasn’t benefited from a safety car even once this season. Somehow, the timing always seems to work out perfectly so that he misses out on any advantage. Are we really supposed to believe this is just a matter of probability? Meanwhile, there’s a certain someone who seems to benefit almost every time and doesn’t even get penalized for exceeding track limits more than four times.

You got to wonder how long until something power-united related outside of the drivers’ control affects a race win. Last week was the formation lap, today SQ1. Whether a software bug or human error, these PUs hold too much influence, they don’t highlight drivers, they limit them.

My objective read on the 2026 season, even as a GR fan:
1. Did Kimi make a leap from 2025 to 2026? Yes
2. Is Kimi seemingly more comfortable with these regs and deployment/battery stuff? Yes
3. Have we had a large enough sample size where both cars were performing identically, and they were on the same strategy and were allowed to dogfight? Arguably NO
4. Has George Russell had a normal PU/deployment weekend since Shanghai Quali? NO
5. Has George Russell expressed issues with PU/deployment even when his race had a positive outcome? YES (Austria, Baku, etc).
6. Has Kimi been more consistent this season? YES
7. Is consistency also factoring in garage/engineering/strategy/and reliability? VERY MUCH SO.
It’s very obvious that Kimi is more comfortable in these cars and with the regs this year, it’s also obvious that George is struggling in his own way, but the points gap is not due to skill or talent alone. Kimi has done a good job maximizing his results and extracting the most each weekend. George fell behind early and every weekend after seemed to be a CTRL-ALT-DELETE in some way to try and find another way around.
Reminds me of 2022 GR vs LH seasons in a new reg.
