Genuinely grotesque watching white far right extremists rampaging into the Capitol when every single person watching this knows that black protesters who tried even a fraction of this would have faced extreme police brutality long ago

And now- a story. About that time I thought I was about to starve to death in the wilderness of Bohemian Switzerland. 💕 🗺 🧭 alexgettinglost.com/2020/12/…

24. When the weather presenter @OwainWynEvans went viral for playing the BBC News theme on the drums, so the BBC made an orchestra... ... and played it out on the BBC News channel. Wild.

Growing up, my Muslim family never celebrated Christmas. This year I am not going home, because pandemic, so my roommates are teaching me how to have my first proper Christmas. I am approaching this with anthropological precision. Here are a few observations.

In light of the Christmas rule change. Many of you will now have loads of perishable food you just won’t be able to finish. And some ppl now won’t have enough (cos you were seeing family). I recommend food sharing app @OLIO_ex. It’s free. And right now, timely and useful.

From Homer's "wine dark sea" in the Mediterranean to the clear turquoise bays of the Caribbean to the silty green-tinted currents of the Nile, there's a reason these sailing destinations are classics ⛵ fal.cn/3c9qg

An Irish passport holder in the UK has more freedom than a UK passport holder in the UK. That’s quite a thing for the UK government to have achieved.

Dear God, This is our Brexit negotiator. 🤦‍♂️ 1) We fully control borders already with passport checks. Being an EU member meant more data to control it better. 2) State aid is an issue at WTO too -not purely unilateral. 3) Fish migrate across borders; shared control is better.
Replying to @DavidGHFrost
3/4 But for a deal to be possible it must fully respect UK sovereignty. That is not just a word - it has practical consequences. That includes: controlling our borders; deciding ourselves on a robust and principled subsidy control system; and controlling our fishing waters.
