The Norway comparison is childish. You’re comparing a country of 15 counties and 5.5 million people with a $2 trillion oil fund, high taxes, and strong institutions to a federation of 36 states, 774 local governments, and over 220 million people. Lagos alone, over 20 million people with far fewer resources—already runs free education for Lagosians in public primary and secondary schools, plus bursary awards for its indigenes in universities. Cascade that across other states: many already run tuition-free or heavily subsidised state universities for indigenes, alongside their own bursaries and scholarships. NELFUND is interest-free, pays fees directly to schools, and has already supported hundreds of thousands of students without needing connections. That’s a national-scale gain on top of what states are already doing, not “inhumane policy.” You usually cite the US and UK (loan-based systems) or Malaysia. Switching to Norway only when convenient ignores the scale, the federal structure, and the actual delivery already happening in places like Lagos. See, it's in olden days that you will come and fi Oyinbo ko wa lobe je...
Norway uses its oil wealth to support public services, including education. Young Norwegian students can attend public universities without tuition fees, while children benefit from free public primary and secondary education. Nigeria is also an oil-producing country, we should borrow a leaf from Norway and turn our oil wealth into better schools, affordable university education, and opportunities for young people. Our natural resources should improve the lives of our people, not just enrich a few, stop defending the politicians who are impoverishing you with their inhumane policies.

When people say, “It’s youth time,” I can’t help but laugh. Many of the young people appointed by this administration show little humility. They stay in the most expensive hotels, arrive at airports with five-car convoys, and flaunt their private jets. What’s truly shocking is their lack of awareness and sensitivity. If they’re the future of politics, democracy won’t last.
Replying to @Osi_Suave
Just yesterday I saw your tweet on City boys guys flying PJ to Kaduna and today this one ..... are the youths not worse than the older generations like this ? Sad stuff

The most politically naïve voters in Nigeria are urban residents. They often analyze national politics through the lens of their office spaces, Twitter timelines, and AC-chilled living rooms and draw sweeping conclusions. But step outside the urban bubbles, and you’ll find a completely different political reality. In rural areas and grassroots communities, voting decisions aren't shaped by manifesto debates or TV panels. They are largely driven by local power structures: high-ranking community elders, opinion leaders, traditional rulers, and religious figures. When these influencers speak, they set the direction. Their endorsement carries actual weight, and their word drives turnout on election day. Until urban analysts understand grassroots political machinery, they will keep getting election predictions wrong. And this reality isn't changing anytime soon.

I had wanted to criticise the Onigbongo LCDA chairman for weeks because of the horrible state of the main road that passes through Onigbongo to the Idi-Iroko Bus stop on Ikorodu Road, but each time, I would delete it because he has yet to fulfil a promise to my section. I'm just happy to see that a portion of the road has been resurfaced. Thank you, Chairman.

It seems there's healthy competition among the local governments in Lagos to showcase projects. I went looking for my electrician in Oshodi yesterday, around the Ogunoloko area. Google Maps took me through about five different streets with new interlocking roads and covered drainage. I was forced to ask him, and he told me it was the local government chairman. I'm impressed. 👏👏👏👏👏

“When every conversation begins with ‘In our days’, perhaps the problem is not that the present has changed, but that the mind has refused to change with it.”
Would Azikiwe,Tafawa Balewa and Awolowo recognise the Nigeria we live in today?

Some said Prof lives in Utopia, and I quite agree.
A US Army Private (the lowest ranking soldier in the army) earns 38 million naira yearly. Nigerian army privates allegedly earn between 2 to 3 million Naira per annum. These are men who risk their lives every day for the safety of Nigerians, Tinubu must explain whether their pay reflects their sacrifice for the nation.

Our dear Prof is really crashing out. Who could have imagined this from the youngest SA to have served in the Shagari administration? If you live long enough.….
If this video is not AI, then there's a big problem, our men and women in uniform have every right to enjoy good living conditions on the frontlines, what is the government doing about this? xitter.cf/ChuksEricE/status/2113…

Salawa Abeni recounts to Mc Oluomo how Asiwaju sent her to Dubai for treatment during the trying time when she lost her child. 😢 Asiwaju too do.

England's match schedule is crazy. Arsenal played a Champions League match on Wednesday and is now playing a league game Saturday afternoon. Come on now. It’s overload.

The people who get irritated when you talk about good governance and accountability are usually the ones who have something to lose if either ever actually arrives.

The clarity and sincerity that Taiwo Oyedele has brought to the government are very valuable assets. You can't accuse him of lying. If you disagree, he won't get angry; rather, he'll give you another layer of clarity.
