After a mini step forward last week, today feels like two massive steps back.
Another spineless, gutless performance.
No fight, no character, no leadership. I genuinely see no way out of this at the moment. Years of neglect are showing.
The fans deserve better!

If Graham Alexander could design a player from scratch, I think he'd include a lot of Greg Docherty's traits. Expert insight on what the free agent would bring to #pnefc from @LouisMend and @airmanbrown.
He seems perfect for a relegation scrap.

Osmajic and especially Archer's finishing this season has been very impressive at their new clubs. Eight goals already between them in Serie A and Ligue 1, respectively. PNE are desperately missing that composure and cutting-edge in front of goal #pnefc lep.co.uk/sport/football/pre…

Continued: “But the problem you got there is you probably bring in players who are not at the level fitness wise to help us in the short term, unless they've been training with a team consistently or with the PFA and stuff like that.” #pnefc

Asked Alexander if free agents have been considered: “Yeah, we've sort of spoke about that this week in particular actually, looking at who's potentially available if they can come in and help us potentially… #pnefc

GA: "The supporters want to see certain things when they travel away and come to Deepdale, and we’re trying to build things that the supporters can get attached to and believe in, in the long term. I know how this club wants to look in the future, but we have to work in the short term to help those further ambitions."

GA: "I believe that these players can improve, but it’s my role and responsibility to help them do that. We’ve done it before in past roles, and I've also been a part of squads that have seen improvement mid-season."

💬 GA on recent staff changes: "We need to change the course of the season so far and how we approach things. The first three games showed me exactly what is required in a number of different ways, but you can’t expect things to change without making changes first."

Preston North End were painfully mediocre and now they’re just in pain. This is what happens when you let a football club drift.
