Sovereign Internet: the single point of failure In four days Ukrainian drones hit three Yandex data centers: • 8 Oct — Sasovo (Ryazan): full shutdown. Two of the three AI supercomputers used to train YandexGPT were there. • 9 Oct — Kaluga: the company’s largest site (63 MW). Several modules completely offline. • 11 Oct — Vladimir: full shutdown. The third supercomputer (“Galushkin”) was located there. Result: all three Yandex AI supercomputers targeted. 80+ cloud services disrupted. Taxi, payments, food delivery and other everyday tools went down across Russia. This is the logical outcome of the “sovereign internet” project. For years the Kremlin concentrated RuNet into a handful of key nodes and a few giant providers — almost all of them in European Russia, well within drone range. Personal-data laws and critical-infrastructure rules make foreign cloud backups legally toxic. You cannot leave, you cannot distribute, you cannot hide. The button that was supposed to belong only to the FSB is now available to any aircraft carrying a few dozen kilograms of explosives.

🇷🇺 ALLEGED ROSSTAT LEAK: 412,576 COMBAT-LINKED DEATH RECORDS An analysis of data allegedly stolen from Russia’s statistics agency identifies 412,576 death records linked to combat. Silent Crow’s broader estimate reaches 450,100, including additional categories, non-combat deaths and inferred cases. The dataset reportedly covers February 2022–August 2026. The authors say registration delays leave recent months incomplete. Around 18,000 new entries per month reflects the database’s growth — it does not establish a daily battlefield death toll. Rosstat acknowledges cyberattacks but denies a data leak. The dataset and casualty totals have not been independently verified. If authenticated, these records could provide substantial new evidence about the human cost of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. @alternative_war

Europe’s supermarkets had the fridges. Hackers took away the cold. On 2 November, cyberattacks disrupted refrigeration systems from Sweden to Belgium, forcing stores to discard food. Some freezers reportedly reached 50°C. 🛒 23 ICA stores in Sweden. 🛒 15 Carrefour stores in Belgium. 🛒 13 SuperValu stores in Ireland. 🥩 €15,000 in meat lost at one Belgian butcher. This followed October’s attack on hundreds of French supermarkets. Intermarché’s chief estimated nationwide losses in the tens of millions of euros in a single day. A refrigeration contractor reported attackers switching equipment into defrost mode — turning a normal maintenance function into a tool for spoiling food. France’s CERT-FR has warned about compromised Danfoss and Copeland/Dixell refrigeration controllers, exposed internet access and obsolete equipment. Some legacy systems no longer receive security updates. The next cybersecurity emergency may be melting in the frozen-food aisle. @alternative_war

🇺🇦 TWO RUSSIAN ISKANDER LAUNCHERS HIT Ukraine’s General Staff reports strikes on two Russian Iskander missile launchers in Bryansk Oblast during operations on November 6 and overnight into November 7, 2026. A Pantsir-S1 air defense system was also reportedly hit in the region. The exact locations, weapon used and strike sequence have not been disclosed. Damage assessment is ongoing; complete destruction of the launchers has not been confirmed. Disabling these launchers reduces Russia’s ability to fire ballistic missiles at Ukrainian cities.

Turkey just told Gazprom the price is too high. Energy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar: “We are buying less gas from Russia and more from the U.S. for a very simple reason — not politics, but price. Russian gas is extremely expensive.” Russia’s share of Turkey’s gas imports has collapsed from 64% in 2006 to 37%. Azerbaijan now holds ~22%, U.S. LNG ~16%. Main BOTAS–Gazprom contracts (Blue Stream + TurkStream, ~22 bcm) expire at the end of 2026. Ankara is in a strong position to demand a discount or keep cutting volumes. Turkey remains Russia’s second-largest pipeline gas customer after China. Losing pricing power there is another blow to Gazprom’s remaining European-facing revenues. Not a full cutoff — yet. But the “reliable partner” is now openly shopping for cheaper gas.

Russia’s aviation comeback keeps shrinking. ✈️ Tu-214 production in 2027: 20 originally promised → 5 in the latest draft plan. That’s 75% below the original pledge. 📉 Total for 2023–2027: 55 originally targeted → roughly 10 now projected, according to Agentstvo. Around 82% short of the target. The outlet reports that only two newly built Tu-214s have been completed since Russia’s full-scale invasion. Neither operates scheduled passenger services. Meanwhile, commercial deliveries of the MC-21, import-substituted SJ-100 and Il-114-300 had still not begun by November 2026. The five-aircraft figure remains an unapproved draft target. Russia can mass-produce aviation promises. Airliners are taking longer.

KRAKOW MARKET SQUARE SHOOTING: WHAT IS CONFIRMED Saturday 7 November 2026, from about 15:00 CET (16:00 Kyiv). Rynek Główny, Kraków. Status as of this evening. CONFIRMED • A man drove onto the Main Market Square and began “firing at random people from his car,” Małopolska Police said. • 6 people are dead and 15 injured, according to the Małopolski Urząd Wojewódzki and police. The first official death toll was 5; one more person later died in hospital, per police comments to Polish media. • Two police officers were wounded, Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński said: one with a gunshot wound, the other in very critical condition with three gunshot wounds and in surgery. • The attacker is a Polish citizen. He had no documents on him and was identified through police work. He wore military-style clothing and used a long military-type firearm. A large quantity of other weapons and ammunition was found in his car. • He was shot by police and detained after a crash at Stradomska and Dietla, where a PAP photographer said he got out and opened fire on officers. • A tram driver’s cabin was hit, the municipal transport company said. • Police denied that an officer had been killed, and denied that a second shooter was being sought: “the only known perpetrator is in police hands.” A city-command remark that there were two attackers was later retracted. • Prime Minister Donald Tusk called it an attack, said police are investigating the background and all circumstances, headed to Kraków, and asked politicians of all sides not to exploit the tragedy. A meeting with ministers and services was scheduled for 21:45 CET at the provincial office. NOT CONFIRMED / NOT TREATING AS FACT • Motive: not announced. • That the rifle has been officially identified as an AR-15: reported by RMF FM; police have only said a long military-type firearm. • The attacker’s condition as now stable: earlier reports said he was being resuscitated or was in critical condition after surgery. • Claims that 12 people are in critical condition, or a precise hospital-by-hospital count beyond what hospital spokespeople have given. • A precise age: reports say 24 or 25. Some Polish media, citing police, said he was a resident of Świętokrzyskie voivodeship. • Local-media details of the exact escape route along Grodzka toward Wawel, and additional shots on the Small Market, beyond the arrest site at Stradomska × Dietla. OTHER REPORTED DETAIL • The 5th Military Hospital in Kraków said it was operating on two shooting victims, a Polish woman and a German man (WP, citing the hospital spokesperson). • President Karol Nawrocki said the head of the National Security Bureau was travelling to Kraków. US ambassador Tom Rose and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy issued condolences. ⚠️ Russian channels claim Ukraine is using hiSky satellite terminals on long-range strike drones. The claim remains unverified. The photographed label reads “Dynamic Terminal Ku 16×16 SL V1.” Photos alone do not establish where or how the equipment was used. Public hiSky documentation describes: ▪️ 60.4 × 29 × 3 cm; approximately 6 kg ▪️ Flat-panel antennas with electronic beam steering ▪️ Designed for GEO and LEO satellite services ▪️ Satellite connectivity while moving hiSky’s 2024 announcement cited speeds of up to 2 Mbps over GEO satellites. That figure is not a universal limit across every operating mode. GEO links introduce substantial delay, limiting applications that require rapid responses. They can still support online communication. The technology is documented. Its alleged use in Ukrainian deep strikes requires independent verification. @alternative_war

⚡️ Democrats are preparing a new aid package for Ukraine worth about $15 billion, according to the Financial Times. However, it will be hard to change US policy through Congress alone: foreign policy remains largely in the president's hands, and Trump has veto power.

🚢 >100 PRC VESSELS IN WEST PACIFIC — UNANNOUNCED DRILL? Taiwanese NSC Secretary-General Joseph Wu reported (3 Nov) more than 100 PLAN and China Coast Guard vessels operating across the western Pacific, including the Liaoning carrier strike group in the Philippine Sea and the Fujian carrier observed leaving Sanya. Concentrations positioned between Taiwan and Guam and closer around the island, consistent with isolation-simulation patterns larger than Justice Mission 2025. Forces from Eastern, Northern and Southern Theater Commands involved — rare multi-theater coordination. PRC has not named or formally announced a major exercise. Taiwan MND tracked elevated air activity (49 sorties on 2 Nov, highest daily figure of 2026). ISW assesses possible unannounced exercise aimed at demonstrating ability to isolate Taiwan and erode confidence in external support. 🛡️ KYIV DEMANDS PATRIOT SWAP BEFORE RAMSTEIN Ukraine convened an emergency NATO-Ukraine Council (5 Nov, permanent representatives level, chaired by Rutte) ahead of the final 2026 Ramstein meeting. Requests: close the 2026 military-aid shortfall (Ankara summit pledged €70 bn for 2026) and swap existing Patriot interceptors from allied stocks for new missiles Ukraine has already ordered. Context: US State Department cleared a $2.1 bn sale of 500 PAC-3 MSE interceptors (allied-funded, no US money). Zelensky warned deliveries may start only in a few years while Russia maintains high ballistic tempo. Finnish Defence Minister Häkkänen publicly stated funding exists but US political clearance is delaying physical deliveries. October intercept rate against ballistics was reported extremely low. 🚀 BALLISTIC WAVES HIT KYIV AHEAD OF ABU DHABI TALKS Russian forces launched multiple waves of ballistic missiles at Kyiv and the surrounding region overnight 6–7 Nov. Ukrainian Air Force reported at least six ballistic missiles inbound shortly before 23:00 local; later waves followed after 01:00 and ~03:00. Targets included infrastructure and the Northern Bridge (Pivnichnyi Mist). Confirmed by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and city military administration: five people injured in the capital, including a 14-year-old child (two hospitalized). Damage in Solomianskyi district to a five-storey residential building (partial ground-floor facade destruction), other apartment blocks (windows blown out), a kindergarten, and non-residential buildings. Bridge traffic closed both ways while damage assessed. Energy objects hit in Kyiv and Zhytomyr oblasts, straining power, heat, and water supplies in the capital. Zelensky had warned the previous evening of preparations for strikes on energy facilities, Dnipro bridges, and civilian infrastructure. Attack comes days before US-led talks in Abu Dhabi. 🔥 Seven Russian refineries reportedly struck in nine days. 30 October–7 November 2026: ▪️ Oct 30 — Novokuibyshevsk: 8.8 million tonnes/year ▪️ Oct 31 — Ufa, Bashneft-Novoil: 7.1 million ▪️ Nov 1 — Kstovo, Lukoil: 17 million ▪️ Nov 3 — Yaroslavl, Slavneft-YANOS: 15 million ▪️ Nov 5 — Ryazan: 17.1 million ▪️ Nov 6 — Afipsky: 6.25 million ▪️ Nov 7 — Saratov: 7 million Combined nominal refining capacity: 78.25 MILLION TONNES OF CRUDE OIL PER YEAR. That figure measures the total capacity of the listed refineries. It does not mean all 78.25 million tonnes are offline. Actual production losses depend on equipment damage and shutdown duration. Repeated strikes can force costly repairs, disrupt fuel supplies and squeeze export earnings — adding pressure to the economy sustaining Russia’s war. Map and compilation: Special Kherson Cat.
