An update here: unfortunately, the thing that I try to save for the last resort did work - complaining on social media.
It took two months to resolve, and is only fully settled today, when they finally sent the bill for payment for this year's premium, but I cannot thank the customer service manager, Reina, that they assigned to our case enough for advocating for us and for ensuring the policy was reinstated. The automated systems may not be great, but the people we interacted with were wonderful.
further nuance is I say I live “on the hill” but I would say “in Capitol Hill” if saying the full neighborhood name
“On Capital Hill” was where my husband worked
Replying to @ChefSuziGerber
“In Capitol Hill” if you are talking about the neighborhood, “on Capitol Hill” if you’re talking about the US Capitol complex.
that’s of businesses *on Ramp*, which are disproportionately venture-backed.
$81/month - that’s the median AI spend per employee at venture-backed companies, according to @tryramp’s AI Index. That’s at least 10x everyone else!
When you spend every day surrounded by founders building with AI, it’s easy to assume the rest of the economy spends the way their companies do. Ramp’s data says otherwise.
Of course, PE-backed and traditional companies are moving too. Their spend more than 2x’d over the past year. But they’re starting from a few dollars a month, about the price of a large cup of coffee.
Those of us in venture work inside a bubble of early adopters. For anyone selling into the token path, that’s good news: most of the market hasn’t started spending in earnest.
a few billion dollar wrappers panicking rn
early conviction from @AmberIllig always
POV: our investment in @noxmetals 🔥
@zanehengsperger was buying their first saw with an empty factory, trying to convince VCs that they could scale physical operations faster with proprietary software.
Now they hit $25M in annualized revenue in ONE YEAR and are inspiring other companies to do the same.
If you’re building tech-enabled infrastructure in a critical supply chain, I want to hear from you *early*
I promise you, they know. And it’s a major problem for front line public servants. Have spoken to people at federal agencies dealing with this — from Library of Congress requests for records to FOIAs to constituent services
I have heard nobody talk about TechCrunch Disrupt in YEARS yet I decide to re-watch Silicon Valley and...everywhere. Baader-Meinhof-ish.
happy AUSA week slash sudden switchover of Metro ads
Exhibit A: give us your data or you aren’t a patriot.
should I use the drugs being sold by the crazy religious people or the sociopathic manipulators? a real rock and a hard place we’re in here.
A few days and a few dozen plays in, interesting to see what people are guessing. Also, there's two questions nobody has gotten right yet :)

Zurich airport. European security is very aristocratic - you must be first or business class to have an expedited experienced. In America at least you can be a dollar princess and get precheck or Clear no matter what.

I hear a lot of talk from VCs about the slop decks they are being flooded with, but respect goes two ways here guys.
I've seen a disappointing number of AI-slop diligence requests and Q&A docs being sent over to my clients in the past few weeks as fall fundraising picks up.
