Notice how the only game with more digital sales than physical was a ball game. Ball & gun gamers are always the weakest link, they'll swallow every yearly-release corpo slop thrown at them and then ask for more. It's obvious why Sony wants only that demographic and no one else

Funny how the “physical is dead” crowd keeps getting introduced to reality. Turns out people actually like owning what they pay for. Who knew?

“A disc is a game you actually own." More than 200,000 people have signed a petition urging Sony to keep physical game discs. On July 1, Sony announced it will stop producing discs for new releases by January 2028, saying more players are choosing digital downloads. The petition comes from Jade Pearce, CEO of Canadian independent video game retailer @PNPGames. Pearce argues that ending physical games would take away players' ability to truly own the games they buy while putting retailers, distributors, and manufacturers that rely on physical media at risk. Do you think physical games deserve a future? Tell us in the comments ⬇️ You can read or sign the petition at Change.org/SonyDisc. #DontKillTheDisc #Sony #SonyDiscs #PlayStation #VideoGames

A quick reminder of how this works: companies drop bad news, endure the outrage, and wait for public apathy to set in. If we choose to be quiet at any point, we are just slowly consenting to the death of physical media. Do not shut up, keep talking about it!
