This is something I’ve legitimately always wondered about. When I was a kid if I ever had a fever (very infrequently, thankfully) my mom would wrap me in heavy blankets, have me drink lots of water, and have me sweat it out. With few exceptions, the fever usually broke in a day, two at most. It wasn’t until I was an adult and married that I learned from my wife that conventions wisdom is to take medicines that reduce the fever.
To me this has always seemed counterintuitive, but it might be a quirk of how I was raised. Anyone else care to weigh in?

Compulsive thinking dulls the texture of reality.
You can test this - shift from being in the grip of the mind to feeling your entire body (it’s a possibility that can be practiced into a choice). The world becomes brighter, more HD in appearance, more divine, and, most importantly, more honest.
Sounds become sharper. Pain reveals itself in deeper, yet somehow less offensive ways. Tragedy becomes beautiful, joy is felt with a blissful melancholy. Confusion clarifies. Love blooms from the heart effortlessly, pollinating the wounds you project into the world.
When I inevitably forget my Self (my not self) and sink into the murky quagmire of the mind, where the rain pours relentlessly, I look beyond the droplets and into the grey clouds, and remember what they conceal.

More than 80 families from New York have moved into Lakefront Estates, where schools have now opened. Dozens more families are expected in the coming weeks, following reported investment of hundreds of millions of dollars in the project.
Located in Glades County near Lake Okeechobee, Lakefront is a purpose-built residential community. The broader development plan calls for up to 1,000 single-family homes and 300 rental units.
The vision goes beyond housing: plans include synagogues, mikvahs, boys’ and girls’ schools, a yeshiva, a kollel, kosher shopping and medical services. Developers are targeting families seeking more space and an alternative to soaring housing costs in established Orthodox neighborhoods.
Hatzalah South Florida has also begun organizing a local branch, meeting with prospective responders who will serve Lakefront. With families arriving and classrooms opening, the focus now shifts from construction to building the services a growing community needs.
