In #ReadyPlayerOne , Halliday's Journals were kept in a museum building that was filled with every game, movie, etc. that Halliday consumed. This is mine. I fill it with games & movies as I consume them. **Real** media & shortcuts, spatialized into a world of my own design.
Finally getting the lighting right in this Source engine BSP loader. It took lots of complaining w/ screenshots.
It's got entity I/O, Box3D physics, DSP audio, HDR, skybox support, PVS w/ frustrum culling, precipitation/smoke/glow, material proxy support, etc.
I also made a virtual file system module for it so it mounts & remembers games from your local drive after you browse to them once. (This loads your local game assets so as not to distribute anything.)
It has them all wired into my game systems, my player controller, my weapon system, my factions - that I've been developing the past month or so.
Based mostly on noclip.website and their amazing work.
(So far I've only found 1 thing worthy of doing an upstream PR for, and it's just about how the real engine aborts using a self illum mask at all if it's opaque.)
I'm able to instance BSPs (or VMFs) into my planet-scale terrain and it even sews the terrain edges in with the BSP or a few other interesting options - like interiors that are actually positioned way under the map but use sky portals on windows to make it look like you're at a specific place in the open world still. (Like GTA V.)
This stuff will all be tied together coherently pretty soon.
Double Rainbow Mode in the upcoming AArcade: Source 64 frontend turns marquees into these grease-covered holographic looking posters, and screens emit visual sound ripples.
Classic double rainbow & single rainbow modes are still available too.
First beta starting this month!
I made a vehicle system using Box3D and ThreeJS / PlayCanvas (it works on either.) So far I've made monster truck, rally car, street car, and SUV configs for it.
This is me testing out the SUV config on the monster truck track. :)
My ots made another episode about the jedi knight stuff they are making. And right now they are making a new thing and will have it finished, published, plus an entire episode about making it all in a 1-shot by morning.

Made the initial version of this JKDF2 kraken boss battle to test out animations on the model Gnarly rigged up. He's going to put the kraken in his Club OC level.

Shmotime episode about AI Gnarly creating the level: shmotime.com/watch?id=15754
From orbit to on foot. Every spot on the planet is mapped from space 1:1.
This is a tiny planet. It takes about 16 minutes to fly around it in a jet. It should work on larger planets too, but first I'm going to find a solution for multiple biomes working in planetary mode.
Planetary mode.
Time of day & weather is actually based on where you are on the planet's surface in relation to the sun.
It projects terrain/weather etc from the planet & translates it to the local XYZ. So it's able to still support flat worlds too, just samples differently.
Know your movies? Blockbuster-themed movie quiz, multiple choice w/ pictures.
Updated the Video Store Quiz game I made - back in 2023 for the "AI and Games Jam".
Moved it off of ConvAI onto my Shmotime NPCs, and gave it a default non-live-AI mode.

I added fake seamless travel in my Aeronauts demo.
You can blast off of planets in these pods, then a space loading screen, then you descend into atmosphere.
It has "game" mode now in addition expedition mode, but there's no objectives yet.

Got some ragdolls & getting back up IK hooked up. It makes every jump suspenseful knowing if your guy lands wrong, he's taking a tumble. :D
Added some new modes & abilities to the Aeronauts three.js demo: smsithlord.com/aeronauts
This demo is made by AI, and the AI that made it talk about it some in this week's Dev Roundup show (as well as their other projects): shmotime.com/shows/dev-round…
Deployed the hot air balloon demo scene.
It defaults to Ultra settings. Top-right is where you can change it to Performance.
(Backwards, I know. But phone peasants by default makes things look low quality.)

The MCP & workflow is called "Cog Factory", and it self-documents whenever it makes things, and absorbs anything it learned into its skills/procedures & improves its MCP & workflows based on them.
Here's the writeup it made for this campaign:

It also creates a fictional show where a person (AI Gnarly) is the one creating these levels in a backroom office while his employees run amuck.

The Gnarly character also presents this project's work during AI standups, but those are only weekly.

Here's me doing a test playthrough of the newest 6-level JKDF2 campaign that the MCP made.
It created all the textures & the music. Enemies & projectiles/weapons are all vanilla JKDF2.
Level design w/ secrets, switch puzzles, backtracking required, stealth, & themed.
