Absolutely brilliant. Look at the colour! Imagine breaking up the grey concrete jungle with this 😍 @ManCityCouncil
THIS is kind of thinking we need in Manchester city centre! Visionary presentation from Simon Ward (Atkins' Urban Design Lead, at Future of Ancoats event hosted by @LI_NorthWest) on how ex-Central Retail Park could become a people's park, as per campaign by local residents 1/3

This from a MCC consultation, that has just been launched, is essentially admitting that GAS is a shitshow for cyclists and something needs to be done about it. If only they had been alerted that they were fucking it up. If only.

A lot of attention on this after the decision not to put cycling lanes on Great Ancoats Street. Already criticism of putting new route through Marina. Some suggestions it will be nice for tourists and casual cyclists but doesn’t really help commuters.

Do you think Great Ancoats Street leaves a lot to be desired? Do you live in the city centre of Manchester, and want to see some opposition on our council? Tell us what you think below! 😄 libdemcouncillors.typeform.c…

1/2 SHAKE UP TIME! Will @MENnewsdesk be writing a spotlight piece on EVERY COUNCILLOR before the May elections, so we can see HOW THEY HAVE VOTED & what they've ACHIEVED for the people they represent? If not we plan to do this ourselves @McrLabour #Transparency #LocalGovernment
WHAT A GREAT THREAD 👇👇 Let's break down these barriers & change the culture in local politics so its more accessible for young people. It's time for a shake up! "Small parties in council areas dominated by a single party rarely get funding." Sound familiar? ALSO JACKIE!💚

What do ‘young people’ perceive as the greatest barrier to engagement with local democracy- TELL me - don’t assume I know!

Thx for the acknowledgement @AbMarcia4 @McrLabour candidate for Ancoats/Beswick Your leader doesn't agree with you on this. If you live in Ancoats you can walk to Phillips Park or Mayfield Park (privately owned & not yet built)! How do you plan to help bring about this change?

Much evidence on the health harm to children from breathing polluted air. Sounds like a great step forward for the right to clean air. Congratulations @TreesNotCars & good luck to @CampaignNocado fighting a distribution depot next to their school. theguardian.com/uk-news/2021…
The tragedy is that this was avoidable. If they had done a decent consultation. If they had listened when Labour councillors had said "do a decent consultation." This is the bitter fruit of arrogance, contempt for democracy, stupidity. #RealScrutinyNow climateemergencymanchester.n…

Horrified by what I’ve seen at planning meetings the Weavers Cottages is an example the officer 3 times suggested the committee go against policy Why is this permitted & why on the rare occasion permission is refused is the application brought back the next month without changes? – at Manchester, England

What a shit show Part II (on the part of our tone deaf, profligate, inept, out of touch, incompetent, corrupted and totally unfit for purpose council) Spending £37m on dodgy property deals and God knows how much on Tory barristers whilst pleading poverty.
Decision is in... WE WON!!!!! 🌳🌳🚫🚘🚘💚

City leaders needs to bite bullet & acknowledge if plan to grow population as proposed (see image, city centre transport strategy) then Inner Ring Relief Road has to be moved out from G Ancoats St. Look how it carves through those new high people zones.
