Charts and popularity aside, VISA is such a strong contender when it comes to musical and cultural merit. Imagine, this song was written by SB19 as a callout to the lack of support for local artists who simply wanted to bring Filipino culture and artistry to the world.
And what makes it even more powerful is that they didn't just release the song for the sake of making a statement. SB19 and 1Z literally walked the talk. They did their research and brought a proposal to the senate to push for a bill that would support Filipino creatives and the local entertainment industry.
They didn't just sing about the struggles of Filipino artists, they took concrete steps to help address them. From using music to amplify the issue to actively pushing for legislative support, they proved that their advocacy goes beyond lyrics and performances.
That's how you turn art into advocacy, influence into action, and a platform into a force for real change. 🇵🇭

SB19's "Bazinga" spends a seventh week at No. 1 on Billboard's #HotTrendingSongs chart. #BillboardNews
The Filipino group’s single surpasses the six-week run of BTS‘ “Butter” for the most weeks spent at No. 1 on the chart so far, dating to the list’s October launch.
LOL at the comments and QRTs from THAT fandom. The hypocrisy is actually WILD. 💀
The irony of crying anti-Asian racism while mocking Asian artists for submitting to the Grammys' Asian category is something else.
You're using racism as a shield to mask your frustration over your faves not winning or getting the recognition you expected, while ridiculing other Asian artists who are simply trying to get their music seen on a global platform. How does that make any sense?
You can criticize the #Grammys for its treatment of Asian artists without belittling those who choose to participate. You cannot claim to fight for Asian representation while mocking other Asians for taking an opportunity to represent themselves.
Let's be honest. This was really never about standing up for Asian artists. If it were, you wouldn't be looking down on Filipino artists for trying to bring their music to the global stage. You're bitter that your faves didn't get the outcome you wanted, Grammy celebratory cakes and all, so now you're taking it out on artists who have every right to try.
You don't get to weaponize anti-Asian racism when it suits your narrative, then ridicule other Asian artists for pursuing the very recognition you claim they deserve. That's not advocacy. That's hypocrisy.
And if you're genuinely against anti-Asian racism and advocate for Asian representation, where's that same energy when MAMA and AAA continue to center K-pop, while artists from Southeast Asia struggle to get the same opportunities and recognition?
Oh, right. You're perfectly fine with the system when your faves are the ones benefiting from it. Suddenly, representation isn't an issue when the industry favors your idols. 💀
So let's stop pretending this is about Asian solidarity. You don't get to use that card while mocking other Asian artists. If you only believe in representation when it benefits your own faves, then you were never fighting for representation in the first place. You were fighting for exclusivity, not equality. And the moment other Asians try or get a seat at the table, your so-called advocacy crumbles because suddenly, it's no longer about breaking barriers, it's about protecting your idols' monopoly on recognition. That's not advocacy. That's entitlement dressed up as principle.
So please, leave them alone.
These Filipino artists aren't even submitting with the expectation of winning a #Grammy. For them, simply getting considered for a nomination is already an opportunity to put their names and music on the global map. That alone can open doors, introduce their music to new audiences, and potentially gain them new listeners.
Even if just 5 or 10 people discover their music because their names appear on a Grammy consideration list, that's already a win. That's 5 or 10 more people who might listen to their songs, explore Filipino music, and become genuine fans. That's exposure. That's progress. And that's how you start building a bigger audience beyond your own country.
But that's exactly what these entitled BTS fans don't understand. They're so caught up in the mindset that everything has to be about winning that they can't comprehend how simply being seen by a bigger audience can already be valuable for artists who are still trying to break into the global market.
Not every artist has the same resources, reach, or starting point. Not everyone is operating at the same level of commercial success. And not everyone measures progress by trophies.
You don't have to understand an artist's goals to respect them. Just because your faves' Grammy journey didn't end the way you expected doesn't mean other artists are foolish for pursuing theirs.
Stop judging Filipino artists by standards and expectations that have nothing to do with their actual goals. They're trying to open doors for Filipino music, not prove they're better than your idols.
Sometimes, getting your name in the out there is already a victory. And you don't get to belittle that just because you can't see beyond the trophy.
