.@JamesTalarico: There is something broken in America. Our economic system is broken. Our political system is broken. Even our relationships with each other feel broken. That’s because the most powerful people in the world want it that way. They want us looking left and right at each other instead of looking up at them. The real fight in this country is not left vs right, it’s top vs bottom. Tonight we sent a crystal clear message to the people at the top: We will not be conquered.

.@JamesTalarico: I want to get back to the kind of capitalism we had in the middle of the 20th century in this country. I want competition, but it’s got to be fair competition. We’ve got to take on these monopolies, this consolidation, because again it’s fundamentally anti-capitalist. Right now, our tax system literally taxes work more than it taxes wealth. I’m advocating for a return to original capitalist principles where we actually reward work instead of wealth—an economy that creates fewer trillionaires and more millionaires.

The murder of Charlie Kirk is part of a disturbing rise in political violence that threatens to hollow out our public life. A free society relies on the premise that people can speak out without fear or humiliation. No more political violence.

Eeyore's is back at Pease Park on Saturday from 11 a.m. to dusk. The annual birthday party in honor of the sad, lovable Winnie-the-Pooh character is celebrating its own milestone: 60 years of music, extravagant costumes and keeping Austin weird. l8r.it/fiWx
