One year ago exactly, Cameroonians 🇨🇲did their civic duty, went to the polls and made history. They voted Biya out of office. That was the people’s victory and it was stolen from us.
In an effort to document that history, to get Cameroonians engaged in collective discourse and action, to prepare future elections, we built Vox237, the citizens’ assembly. Democracy is never fully accomplished, it is always being tested, patched, or, sometimes, torn down. We used to think democracy and capitalism were inseparable. Apparently not. The world’s at a crossroads: do democracy and capitalism pull through, or do they call it quits?
