It was a wet week for much of Alberta.
This weekly precipitation map shows the amount of rainfall the province saw between July 13 and July 20.

We have offered our services but still have not heard back. We can deploy 13 fire trucks, 1 SPU trailer, 55 firefighters, dozers, excavators, winch trucks, pickers and other equipment.
We can roll an army and be in Ontario in 48-60 hours.

Serious question for @MarkJCarney.
Why is there no Federal response to the out of control fires in Northern Ontario?
Proud to be a Gold Sponsor for the @NIFSC_CA Fire Conference
Today Canada wastes another $16.3M on wildfire training, as it does nothing to improve national capacity building. Type 2 firefighters are seldom used inter-provincially due to the strong desire of CIFFC members to import foreign firefighters.

The best way to address this is to develop a process to convert Type 2 firefighters into Type 1 firefighters with a national First Nations body such as the @NIFSC_CA IFMO becoming a CIFFC responding member. They can train FN firefighters to NWCG standards so they can deploy 🌎

@andersoncooper you were discussing fire embers during the Palisades Fire. In Canada we use trailers full of sprinklers, pumps, hose to defeat fire brands. (Not done in USA)
As well as check out Fire and Flood in Red Deer with their equipment mass water pumps and sprinklers.
@CNN @andersoncooper
I would be willing to discuss this and how basic our systems work to protect communities.

Replying to @CDS_Canada_CEMD
@CDS_Canada_CEMD Thank you for being honest about CAF’s ability to respond to wildfires. Provinces have relied too much on your Forces. Alberta has >2000 private fire fighters not frequently used in wildfires. CIFFC agencies will not let their First Nation Type 2 firefighters…

@fbonnardelCAQ need more help? We can assist with 20 fire fighters, 5 fire trucks and 1 sprinkler unit. @spofeu @secpubliqueqc
Replying to @cathmckenna
@cathmckenna Alberta has a huge private sector emergency response apparatus but it has been purposely ignored. If @CIFFC and it’s partners allowed for private sector Type 1 firefighters we would have enough manpower.

@NateHornerAB The Alberta Wildfire community lost a mountain of a man recently. I just found out that Taras Melnyczuk passed away. His personality was even bigger than his Bush babies. I’ve only worked a few fires with him, but he was a very dedicated person to his service.
@VPinsiders We are looking to establish a Canadian west coast marine firefighting organization. If you have ESG Investors, this is right up your alley! DM for slide pitch
