We analyze how the structure of international food trade has evolved from 1986 to 2022, and how observed structural changes affect the propagation of production shocks worldwide.🌏

How resilient is the global food system to production shocks? In our new paper (arxiv.org/abs/2603.01740), we reconstruct the global food trade network (1986–2022) as a multiplex system and simulate how shocks cascade through export bans. Main results:

New preprint: Population synthesis with geographic coordinates 🌍
We introduce a method to generate synthetic populations with explicit lat/long coordinates.
Using Normalizing Flows + VAEs, we capture spatial + non-spatial correlations between samples and features. 1/3

✅ 121 datasets tested
✅ Spatial accuracy & privacy preserved
