Rewarding trip to Co #Roscommon, discussing agriculture, tourism and active travel with @roscommoncoco, buying top crafts, visiting @elphinwindmill with 🇳🇱🇮🇪 links, and ending at @arignaminingexp, learning about the hard miners’ life and the move from coal to tourism. #Respect!

Great images we found of Arigna Ironworks through @tcddublin Trinity’s Access to Research Archive. These ink wash drawings were done in 1833 as part of a magazine periodical. Very grateful for open access repositories that help keep local histories alive! – at Roscommon, Ireland

As part of their Geography Fieldstudy, all Second Years students travelled to Arigna Mines. A very enjoyable experience enhanced by the real life experiences of past miners. Thank you to the staff at @arignaminingexp for their detailed tour. It was thoroughly enjoyed.
