A meaningful detail from the photo Minghao shared: the red ribbons tied around the tree are reminiscent of traditional Chinese wishing ribbons (xǔyuàn dài / 许愿带), often tied to trees at temples and sacred sites as a way of expressing wishes, offering prayers, and seeking good fortune and protection. There's also something particularly symbolic about the tree itself. In traditional Chinese culture, pine trees represent longevity, resilience, and the ability to endure hardship. Their evergreen nature has made them enduring symbols of strength and perseverance. Seeing a pine tree taking root and growing out of solid rock makes this symbolism even more meaningful. A small reminder of resilience, endurance, and the beauty of continuing to grow even under the harshest conditions.
