1/7 𧡠the first of seven 6529 artist spotlights is @abrahannyr.
a lens-based artist blending together traditional photography, self portraiture, technology, and emotional storytelling. imo, her work brings a unique sense of vulnerability and boldness.

I couldnβt be more thrilled to have another work land in the collection of @omz__x
I feel immensely lucky to have someone like him supporting my work. He has become a friend I can talk about anything with but someone I have now had many inspiring conversations with about the role of art & artists within an uncertain & often dark world.
To create a work that is brimming with hope like this one is not just a struggle for me but an extremely vulnerable one. So to have it end up with someone who I 100% know not only understands the full spectrum of its meaning but holds their own deep personal connection to it is literally a dream come true and not something that always happens.
OMZ has not only collected a few of my most vulnerable works now but he immediately always reacts with encouragement or interest any time I try something new. Collectors who celebrate your experimentation (not just what you are known for) are the ones who foster growth not just in the individual artists whom they support but in all of the artists who are in relation to them as well. There are major knock on impacts of this & itβs something that I often comment on because I wished more people had this mindset.
For me this is always what the artist/collector relationship holds in its potential. It is never guaranteed nor is it even common but the potential for it is always there. To all my artist friends out there I hope that if you have not experienced it, that at some point you do.
So thank you OMZ, for your support, your friendship and for giving this work a home. It will always feel like an honorπ€

It always annoyed me, never liked that statement
