I'm playing around a bit with @astrodotbuild Content Layer API, and apart from the amazing DX, it is much faster than fetching API the old way 🔥 I'm just fetching some data using WordPress REST API. But I'm guessing the more fetches the difference would grow. cc @AndrewKepson

It's one of the biggest new features in Astro 5, but how does it work? Grab your pick and shovel: we're digging deep into the content layer.

The latter! Today's Next 15 release is an RC/preview until 1) React 19 releases and 2) we feel good about the big changes we're making, i.e. there's no egregious breaking bugs that will break everyone's app.
Replying to @feedthejim
@feedthejim will it be Next 15 stable released today, or just an rc release until React 19 is stable?

Excellent framing. To me this is the biggest issue I have with modern open source compared to 10+ years ago, it’s open source, but not openly developed.

That's great. Sharing stuff beforehand doesn't spoil the launch: it gets people hyped up. This is open source, not Apple.

Next 15 headline: "caching is hard." 👀 The release is happening very soon and there are three changes that I'm really really excited about. ◆ no more fetch caching by default ✅ ◆ no more client caching by default ✅ ◆ no more static GET routes by default ✅

Edge is so back
The Netlify Edge Function adapter for Remix is now almost entirely Node-compatible, but with Deno's performance. You can freely import and use most Node builtins. You don't even need to prefix the imports.
