Magic nickname for 2026-27 season: No-D Magic
How does @OrlandoMagic becoming a life-and-die-by-the-three kind of team?
No D identity so far in sight. This is starting to worry me.

5 takeaways of the @quipnetwork AMA (Oct 29, 2026):
- Points campaigns (Quest & Mindshare) are ending around Oct 30, with this week's distribution expected Monday. Possible Discord multipliers for active members were mentioned (not confirmed). Separate $QUIP allocations protect earlier points.
- Unified app is coming soon — it will combine Accounts, QuipSwap, points, QVRF, compute subnets, and QVM in one place.
- External chain audit is the last major step before mainnet. TGE comes after mainnet. No fixed dates; findings will be published.
- QVM (the main focus) is live on testnet: write once in a constraint language and run on D-Wave annealers, classical hardware, or upcoming gate-based systems (IonQ). Costs are quoted upfront (based on qubits, time, and entanglement), with multi-layer verification. Free compute credits are available for testing.
- Overall, all core components are live on testnet and the project is in its final stretch toward mainnet.
The team (including @cadillion and @rcarback) answered questions on QVM mechanics and the broader roadmap.

It's not weekend when I usually post a non-web3 stuff, but I'm so happy receiving these cards purchased straight from Japan, that I gotta share no matter what.
Low-mid tier Gengar PSA 10 x 3. 🎉🥳
"But we don't have Banchero..."
They also don't have Kawhi.
No excuse. 30 points loss is embarrasing for a team that's aspire to be a contender in the East.

🦋 Quantum headliner of the day: The Quip Virtual Machine (QVM) Launch by @quipnetwork
🦋 What it is:
QVM is now live on the Aglais testnet.
It lets developers write one program in a constraint-based language and run it on quantum annealers (D-Wave supported now; IonQ coming), gate-based quantum computers, or classical hardware.
That's achieved without rewriting for each architecture or thinking in low-level gates/qubits.
🦋 Key features:
- Predictable pricing: Gas model based on qubit space, execution time, and entanglement. Maximum cost is known before a job runs (baseline + optional tip). At mainnet this will be paid in $QUIP tokens.
- Verification: Every result is checked via classical simulation, independent classical benchmarking, and cryptographic attestation tying it to the hardware.
- Earning model: Developers can publish programs publicly and get paid each time they run.
Note: Free compute credits available for new testnet users.
🦋 Demo results:
At QuantumTech World, a live portfolio-optimization head-to-head (1,930 races) showed the quantum solver matching or beating the classical solver in every case. When results differed by >0.5%, quantum was better by a median of 2.56% (both typically finished in 0.1-0.3 s).
🦋 Context:
QVM sits on top of Quip Network (a decentralized quantum/classical compute marketplace). It aims to solve the industry’s fragmented tooling, non-portable code, and unpredictable pricing problems.
Early testers include researchers at Monash, Notre Dame, and Purdue, plus industrial users like SiC Systems.Quip
🦋 Bottom line:
one programming layer + upfront gas pricing + multi-layer verification, making quantum (and hybrid) compute more accessible and commercially practical.
QVM is live on testnet 🦋
Write one program and run it unchanged on annealers, gate-based quantum computers, or classical hardware.
Pay as you go, and know exactly what each job costs upfront.
