we are so lucky in the way that we looked so shaky still but we managed to go through swiss 3-1… i hope the team can smooth out those kinks and prepare well, improve their teamwork and more importantly to peyz to chill a bit (he seemed kinda off his game coming worlds) t1 화이팅
ngl, i watched so many streamer in these 2 years all long. surviving so many hurts opinion about him. deep down i believe that people are normal to swiftside and change their opinion. so nothing more i aspire than him being able to perform. hope it would make people in this industry love him a bit u know.
more than anything, i am the happiest person if he being remembered and loved as a player. as he belong to be. because that is the exact point of him standing here as a young naive toplaner backthen.
so no, i took every harsh critics of his play all along. hold my grudge. i bear with it, with strong faith he will make it switch. no matter what. i catch my eye on a caliber player. no doubt in it. no regret all the way.
whatever the result, u are forever be my favorit player, my favorite toplaner, my best league of legend figure to remember—that none, a single person on earth can touch league without. you are the classic, the basic, and the legend❤️🐿🍀✨️

Q. In 2022, you unfortunately lost in the finals. Now that you’ve returned to the United States, do you feel differently this time around?
🐶 Honestly, when we lost the finals back then, I think I had a really hard time because I was so focused on what was right in front of me at the time. But as more time passed, I came to feel that those valuable experiences back then have continued to help me improve and grow steadily into the player I am today. In that sense, I think it was a really good experience. I also think that, throughout my career as a professional player, that moment was a major turning point in my growth. So this time, I hope to build on that experience and achieve good results here in the United States before we leave.
That's right, Minxi. Let's lift that summoner's cup, one more time.

Why Doran's Build is Optimal For Pro But NOT For SoloQ:
This clip is an amazing example of how itemizing early defensive items enables Gwen to snowball in pro play.
I always hate on pro player's builds but the reasoning stems from why Gwen is never picked to begin with.
Gwen's biggest weakness in pro play is having a weak laning phase which makes her very susceptible to dives/ganks early game EVEN IN FREE MATCHUPS LIKE THIS GAME VS ORNN.
By building Rift components, you counteract this while still having almost no weak points even though the completed item will be less efficient for resource gathering/scaling into the mid game compared to other options like Dusk / Nashor.
Rift gives you so much hp + sustain early into the game which allows you to actually take skirmishes and fight EVEN at just the components.
I would MUCH RATHER have Haunting Guise + Amp over B Wand + Dagger + Ruby (or B Wand + Sheen).
Also, Gwen having the perfectly optimized dmg build for late game will be meaningless if she is down thousands of gold from the early game.
Doran gets a very safe game where he will be useful no matter what with this build.
The reason why we don't do this in solo Q is because the game is more chaotic allowing you to afford more expensive items (Dusk / SF / Rab).
You also get more angles for resource gathering from people dying/misplaying and forgetting to cover waves, mistakes that just will not be happening in competitive but always happen in solo Q.
Cheaper items with defensive stats tend to be more consistent and help champions like Gwen be useful even if anything goes wrong in the early game which is why he goes stuff like Nash/Void for cheaper spikes with decent components that are still very good into their comp over trying to buy Rab.

🎤: You’ve secured your spot in the quarterfinals with today’s win! Do you have a message for your fans?
#Doran: The local fans here have been cheering us on so passionately, so it really feels like playing in front of a crowd at the venue
#Doran: I’m also grateful to all the fans cheering us on from back home in Korea
[Easyhoon praising Doran’s Ambessa in Game 1]
When asked which moment from the match against MKOI stood out most, Lee singled out Choi Hyeon-jun ’Doran’ and his performance on Ambessa in Game 1.
Easyhoon: In Game 1, our team as a whole was playing a bit cautiously in a way that didn’t suit the characteristics of our comp or the gameplay situation, what really broke through that and led us to victory was Doran’s play on Ambessa. It was very impressive and I want to tell him that he played extremely well.
