A few weeks ago we blogged about what's required on the compiler & language side to enable async/await in no_std In this new post we take look into how async could be used in embedded Rust programs and share why we are excited about async on embedded ferrous-systems.com/blog/asy…

First alpha of the next big #heimrs version is out! There are @tokio_rs and @asyncrs integration, easier debugging with error contexts and huge async/await refactoring under the hood. And user guide at heim-rs.github.io/book/! crates.io/crates/heim/0.1.0-… docs.rs/heim/0.1.0-alpha.1/h…

Next little step towards Dat in @rustlang achieved: A working Noise handshake between Rust and Node! Also, my exploration into how modern crypto works & a nice example of how simple @asyncrs is. Code here: github.com/Frando/rust-node-…

Decided to write a basic TCP proxy using #rustlang and @asyncrs this weekend as an excuse to play with async/.await. Here’s the link so people can send me some feedback on how to make it better! github.com/papertigers/proxy…

So excited to have released my first @rustlang crate this morning! The goal of the crate was to add additional functionality to the async BufReader implementation provided by the async-std lib @asyncrs. Here it is! crate: crates.io/crates/async_buf_r… github: github.com/mkralla11/async_b…

"The new runtime enables you to fearlessly use synchronous libraries like diesel or rayon in any async-std application." It's like the team is speaking right to my heart ! <3
Don't let anyone block you! We're introducing a new adaptive, @golang-inspired, @rustlang async runtime that automatically detects blocking behaviour and just continues to run and run. Don't worry about separate blocking and non-blocking tasks anymore! async.rs/blog/stop-worrying-…

async-tungstenite got a release on crates.io now: crates.io/crates/async-tungs… Async WebSocket client/server based on the tungstenite @rustlang crate. This is mostly a fork of tokio-tungstenite, made to work with @asyncrs but not actually tied to any specific runtime.

And because the @rustlang Futures are well thought through, it's relatively easy to combine everything into an example using the @asyncrs async-tls and @GTKtoolkit GIO's TCP connections to set up a TLS connection. Powered by rusttls instead of openssl. github.com/gtk-rs/examples/p…
The @GStreamer and @GTKtoolkit @rustlang bindings were updated to use the latest futures 0.3 release and work now on stable Rust with async/await! Examples here: github.com/gtk-rs/examples/b… gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstre… gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstre…

Replying to @asyncrs
Thank you for making the async Mutex front-and-center. So much async rust code that I've found has used old blocking mutexes, which is a sad thing to see.
