China has blocked SoftBank’s acquisition of ABB Robotics’ operations in China.
The $5.375 billion deal now faces a major obstacle.
SoftBank received the decision on November 4 and confirmed it on November 6. Talks with ABB are still ongoing.
I’m curious how SoftBank plans to move forward with its Physical AI strategy without certainty over ABB’s Chinese operations.

The Nasdaq 100 just posted its largest daily drop since the 2020 Pandemic, with the S&P 500 erasing -$3 trillion today.
Just 24 hours ago, the Dow surged +1,600 points after the Democrats "swept" the Midterms.
So, what changed? Let us explain.

The entire post-Midterm Election rally has been erased in a matter of minutes.
This is one of the fastest market cap losses in stock market history.

12 years ago I founded Boom, as a software engineer doing hardware for the first time. I’m probably the least handy founder in hard tech. My 12 y/o son does my soldering and 3D printing for home projects, and I’ve struggled with imposter syndrome the whole way through. What business does a software guy have building supersonic jets and turbines?
More than a decade in, the most insane realization is that software is the key to reaccelerating hardware engineering. But in a way that I don’t think is widely understood or implemented, even in the burgeoning hard tech community.
Most hardware engineering is actually software engineering in disguise. It’s spreadsheet “code,” engineering calculations done as one-offs. Eg wing structural loads in, spar sizing design out. Thermal loads in, air conditioning system sizing out.
Everything is a calculation, and calculation is software. But these calculations are done essentially by hand, as if we are doing arithmetic but have not yet discovered algebra.
Hardware engineers have baby software, built in spreadsheets, the kind of crappy software I wrote as a kid before I understood architecture, unit tests, APIs, version control, and everything else that makes modern software good.
Our airplanes and engines are built with the software sophistication of a script kiddie.
So what we tell our engineers: don’t design the hardware, design the *algorithm* for designing the hardware. And take the algorithm seriously—as an algorithm and as a first-class engineered software system.
Never design a piece of hardware, such that you couldn’t redesign it tomorrow with a different set of assumptions.
This all sounds obvious, yet our experience at Boom is that it changes everything.
Ten years ago we couldn’t afford to build much software. We had a small team—and there were few software engineers with the curiosity, brilliance, and vision required to learn hardware engineering.
But now AI changes the equation. Now everyone can code. The software engineers define the architecture. The hardware people bring the physics and engineering know-how.
We have a turbomachinery design tool that lets one engineer do in realtime what previously took 100 engineers six months. Another tool auto-generates 65% of entire aircraft structure. I’m sure we’ll figure out the other 35% too. Eventually these should not be multiple tools, but one integrated physics model of a complete vehicle, airframe and powertrain.
The results speak for themselves. A boomless supersonic airplane built by 50. A full scale supersonic turbine made by 150. And with this approach, I don’t think we’ll need that many more people to build and certify a supersonic airliner.
You don’t need a big team to build big things—not when everyone on the team is a software engineer.

The Princeton professor who also works as a research scientist at Google DeepMind is uploading an entire robotics course to YouTube this fall, and the full previous run is already online: 24 lectures, about 29 hours, free.
"Introduction to Robotics," Anirudha Majumdar (@Majumdar_Ani), Princeton.
motion planning and RRTs, quadrotor dynamics, PD control and LQR, Bayes, Kalman and particle filters, SLAM, optical flow, then deep learning and reinforcement learning for robots - 24 lectures, about 29 hours, free.
the homework includes flying a real Crazyflie drone, and the final project is to put a camera on it and train it to navigate by imitation learning, the same learn-from-demos idea robot brains like π0 are built on.
the Fall 2026 lectures go up every week: 11 are out, and lecture 1 already has 84K views.

Pump Fun's trending page is a crime scene
1 in 3 Pump Fun graduations yesterday were sold out before a single person could even buy in
Let me explain:
1,103 coins graduated on Pump Fun on Nov 4. 385 of them graduated in the exact same second they were created
Normally, it takes minutes or hours for a bonding curve to sell out
These took ZERO seconds. Before any chart even loaded
I pulled 3 examples onchain:
1. $AOTF
One wallet created the coin and bought the entire bonding curve in the same transaction
5 minutes later, it distributed the tokens across other wallets in 664 transfers
Market cap now: $1,660.
2. $MRBEAST
6 wallets bought the entire curve in 2 bundled transactions
47 minutes later, those same wallets co-signed a transaction sending 208.88 SOL to the deployer
Market cap now: $1,765.
3. $CHICKPOT
One wallet bought the entire curve in the launch second
Sold for 1,833 SOL within an hour
A day later, all 3 are practically dead
But why would anyone buy out their own coin in second zero?
Because "graduated" is the marketing
A graduated coin moves to a real trading pool and starts appearing on trending pages and screeners
To a normal buyer, it looks like a coin that's already winning
Meanwhile, the wallets behind the launch can still control most of the supply and dump/rug
images show deployer of CHICKPOT who rugged (and fumbled almost a milly as the coin got CTO and went up to $4M)
