Just to clarify β¦ 5.3 billion is only for the Australian nrl tv rights. Nz will add another 350 million. A 20th is built into the deal which should add another 350 million. Without png the nrl is looking at close to 870 million a year by 2030. Around 120% increase

State of Origin I 2026 on 9Now recorded the highest ever BVOD audience of all time with 1.521 million streaming on 9Now (beating the previous overnight record of 978,000 set in Origin III 2025, which surpassed The Matildas v England World Cup semi-final).

Search volume for the NRL took over SR in New Zealand π³πΏ for the first time in 2011 & 2013 and has been comfortable winners since COVID. We may see an all-time biggest margin for NRL over Super Rugby this year. The NRL hasn't quite hit the historical heights of SR in 06 though.
