Family Guy recently made a Civil War version of "Who's on First" that had me crying laughing. It had no business being that good.

Almost everything in this ad is false and misleading. He is technically telling the truth when he says his name.
#WAPol: "I'm Ken Jennings, host of Jeopardy, here with a pop quiz. Did you know Initiative 645 would give millionaires and billionaires a $13B tax break ... It doesn't take a quiz show host to know 645 is wrong for Washington." Ken Jennings stars in this new ad by No on 645.

“If you believe the world is falling apart and doomed only to get worse, that our obvious and real problems cannot be surmounted, X is not the platform for you. If you think the world is full of fun and amazing people and things, that humanity’s defining feature is our collective ability to solve any problem, that the only time better to be alive than today is tomorrow, it might be.”

Everyone holding their phone up at a sporting event or concert or kid’s recital will feel that moment live exactly zero more times. This is exactly what I want to be building: the gift of presence.
This Meta Glasses commercial at the US Open was absolutely brilliant. At the end of the day, your phone might just stay in your pocket. $META is coming for your lunch, $AAPL. Watch out.

The $100 trillion Zimbabwe note has appreciated 24x more than the US dollar since 2011. You would have been better off saving in a defunct, worthless currency than dollars.

Is Zuck producing this film? Because he’s being portrayed as a based Chad. This might actually be awesome in a way the filmmakers don’t intend.

Can confirm. I've seen this on my own @otrgold podcasts :)
Some NPR podcasts started getting mysterious comments on Spotify. They made no sense to the staff reading them – until someone from a younger generation cracked the code. Hear the story: link.podtrac.com/phns92ui

Because it's a ridiculous question. Why should my daughter eat healthier food than the average person? Why should she breath cleaner air than people living in Beijing & Mumbai? The answer to all such questions is "because I love her & can provide her something better". Period.
I notice none of Nikole Hannah-Jones' critics try to answer to the basic question she wrestled with, which is: Why should my daughter get to go to a better school than other people's kids just because I work for the New York Times?

😭😭😭 My hot take is that Elon is not nearly rich enough and the world would be a better place if he had 10X more capital to put at work.
A beautiful surprise

The government is in great shape if you ignore the $40 trillion in debt, the 60 straight months of inflation, and that interest payments are now bigger than the military budget.
JUST IN: Anthropic says they’re highly profitable if you take out some of their biggest expenses.

Dumpster fire politics. It's utter trash. The federal government lacks both the money and the constitutional authority to do this. They're just inflating the money supply, diluting your saves, then bribing you with a small portion of what they've stolen from you.
NEW: President Trump makes a major promise at the Republican midterm convention in Dallas: $5,000 for every adult U.S. citizen if Republicans win both the House and Senate in the midterms. “I will issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000.”

Milton Friedman: “Inflation is just like alcoholism. In both cases when you start drinking or when you start printing too much money, the good effects come first. The bad effects only come later.” “That’s why in both cases there is a strong temptation to overdo it: to drink too much and to print too much money.” “When it comes to the cure, it’s the other way around. When you stop drinking or when you stop printing money, the bad effects come first and the good effects only come later. That’s why it’s so hard to persist with the cure.”

Listen. If $9,000 is the thing that is going to let moms stay home and for families to have more children, then make it a $9,000 tax credit. If you want them to have $9,000, then government shouldn’t take the $9000 from them to start with. Giving back the money they took like it’s a favor when they could just let them keep it. Even worse, government shouldn’t have to take $15,000 from someone else while keeping $6,000 for itself snd then “give” the $9,000 it stole from someone else. Reduce taxes. Don’t increase spending.

Even Dolly Parton’s philanthropy was good and efficient. Her Imagination Library mails a free book every month to kids from birth to age 5. Instead of just writing checks, she built infrastructure, kind of like what Andrew Carnegie did with libraries. Her foundation negotiates huge bulk discounts, selects the books, and runs the distribution system, and governments, nonprofits, and local donors help cover the marginal costs. So a book that retails for ~$10-15 can be bought and mailed to a child for roughly $2–3. Good model: use philanthropy to build the machine, then let others fund it at a tiny cost per child. A recent study found participants entered kindergarten about 0.13 SD higher on literacy and were 16–24% less likely to be severely behind... But families self-select into the program, so much of the effect is probably selection bias. I made a donation today: donate.imaginationlibrary.co…

They forgot to add the price of the silverware, the oven, the cutting board, the bowls, the electricity in the home… this meal probably cost like $10,000 for them
CNN remakes one of the “affordable” meals from RFK Jr.’s new cooking show. It should cost under $5 per serving, but what’s the real price point? @tomforemancnn reports.
