🚨 Organizations should immediately patch critical PHP vulnerabilities CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619. These vulnerabilities enable unauthenticated #RCE and affect PHP installations serving web requests. Learn more: 🔗 go.dhs.gov/5Hi

UPDATE: Specific mitigation guidance for the recently identified PHP critical vulnerabilities is now available. Secure your servers today. Guidance and technical steps here: nsa.gov/Press-Room/Press-Rel…
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

We got a question in THE CUBE "Now that Direct Lake has calculated columns… can they change at runtime?” 🤔
Direct Lake Calculated Columns? What is that you say? Patrick got you covered!

We still want to find a way to bring the community together. If you planned to be in California for the Grace Hopper Celebration, I invite you to join us this year for GitHub Universe, Oct 28-29. 🌉
We've set aside 75 complimentary passes for folks with cancelled registrations. While this doesn't replace the conference and Universe has far fewer attendees than GHC, my hope is that it does give folks an opportunity to connect with each other. 📷 DM the GitHub team on LinkedIn or email me at [email protected] (first come first serve).
EGLL (London / Heathrow) 🛫 KIAH.
After two weeks, it’s time to head home. This last week in England has been special to me. Being able to sit, listen and see what folks are doing to help bring people to Christ has really been great.
The reality is they need more help, more people, more resources. Seeing what people are doing with the resources they do have is nothing short of God’s work.
I’ve met a lot of new people and pray that God shows them favor and continues to provide for them. And that there be an obvious move of God to further His kingdom.
I’m very tired but my heart is full from the experiences this last week and I’m very thankful I was able to be a small part of it. I’m very much looking forward to more trips like this!

Today marks a new chapter for Windows, as we bring unmetered intelligence to every desk and every home, and make every PC a place where agents can work securely on your behalf.
Some highlights of what we announced:
• MAI-Code-1.1 Flash: 137B parameter coding model w/ 256K context window, which is now optimized to run on your PC!
• GitHub Copilot now hands off work to local models like MAI-Code-1.1 Flash, helping projects cost a lot less without sacrificing quality.
• With Hybrid Intelligence, Copilot can now take action directly on the PC and keep sensitive work on your device.
• And with Code in Copilot, you can essentially build any software you need on your desktop, without any cloud token spend, and it’s just super at it. You’re no longer limited to what’s in an app store! Your PC becomes an infinite software factory.
• Security is foundational to all this, which is why we are also bringing together Windows and Agent 365 so agents can work within secure boundaries on-device, including MXC a local sandbox for agent execution. Windows becomes your secure agent box!
• All this comes to life on a new generation of devices, like Surface Laptop Ultra, powered by NVIDIA RTX Spark.
Can’t wait to see what you build with all this.

The busiest single repo on GitHub saw roughly a billion requests in ONE MONTH. Today, we shared how we’re rebuilding GitHub’s storage layer (without changing how you use GitHub) decoupling compute & storage so reads and writes scale independently.
Quicker pushes, pulls, and a platform that stays fast as more agents and developers code. We’re designing against some of the largest workloads on the platform so there’s headroom for everyone.
More below on how this works and excited to show you more at @GitHub Universe. 👇
Grateful to everyone who joined us at #FabCon and #SQLCon in Barcelona. Your questions, ideas, and feedback shape where we go next.

What an incredible week at #FabConEU / #SQLConEU! So many connections were made and knowledge gain along with all of the swag and experiences. And an amazing Keynote with great announcements!
Now off to England with some pastors at Church Project for a vision trip to meet with mission partners, meet some families and share the good news! I feel blessed to be a part of this group of strong Christian men! I’m looking forward to what God has in store.

Tonight was a very special night at #FabConEU / #SQLConEU. It was the #PowerHour! And no, this post is not AI.
It has a long history and legacy. But this time we tried something different. It took a team as well. Matthew Roche had an idea. He and I met in July to talk about it. That idea was what if we change the format and riff on the show Taskmaster and make it like a 1-hour episode.
Matthew crafted the tasks and structure and then I helped with recording and overall production. This is usually where Matthew and I very much complement each other. Off we went.
@SQLGoddess helped us on different fronts, but the one most will remember coming out of this were the hats :) Sara Haring, my video editor, is an artist and she was an MVP for this for sure with the edits she did to give us a first class list with the intro video and the 3 pre-recorded tasks along with a lot of visual assets to really make it come alive. @IrishSQL , Kelly, Kensie and Katie for their assistance in the room, backstage and with the swag. Just supporting the session, the event and Matthew and I.
And the 5 contestants we had that were gracious enough to trust that Matthew and I would make this amazing and treat them respectively in the process and outcome. Thank you @joanalytics , Keerthi, Matt, @Will_MI77 and @DataZoePowerBI . Y'all had no real idea of the bigger picture beyond the bits you did individually. And, I truly enjoyed watching you react to what we were able to put together.
And to the folks that sat in the chairs, Matthew and I could hear your enjoyment. You laughed where we wanted you to laugh. You participated where we wanted you to - and beyond what we expected. Thank you for sharing your time with us and letting us entertain you leveraging a product we are all working with.
And one other MVP of the evening - #Rayfin / Fabric Apps. This is a very new technology, but I truly believe it helped make tonight magic and an experience folks won't quickly forget. It honestly didn't take long to build out. I feel I need to make a video of what it really did for us. It allowed me to embed a webpage in PowerPoint to visualize pieces of the evening. The Score board, the results, in an engaging and animated way that really made it pop. I honestly don't know if we could have pulled that part off without Fabric Apps. Certainly not in the amount of time we had to do it. The most enjoyable part of building that app was being able to control things from my iPad and then taking pictures of the live task at the end on my iPad, uploading the photos and then displaying them in an amazing way on the big screen. InsaneAmazing!
We heard from so many people tonight that this was the best Power Hour ever and how were we going to top that? To be honest, I have no idea, but not something for tonight. Tonight I go to bed with a warm heart and a grateful soul that we were able to impact the community at the conference in a way they won't forget anytime soon. 🙏
Thank the Lord for the opportunity!
If you're in Barcelona for #FabCon / #SQLCon this week, you CANNOT miss today's #PowerHour session. Doors open at 4:30 in the same auditorium where we held yesterday's keynote. Every Power Hour is special, but this year will be truly one-of-a-kind. There will be tons of swag, you won't learn anything useful, but you'll leave wondering why no one has ever done anything like this before.
Matthew Roche and I will join five of our colleagues from the Fabric product team, with a special guest appearance from @arcticdba - because the best things in life are made better by our fantastic community. We don't want to spoil any of the surprises we have in store, but we've been doing the Power Hour for almost two decades and have never attempted anything like what we have planned for today.
The Power Hour often fills up early - to get the best seats don't show up late!

They had apps and then saw how to build apps! 😁 (thanks to Sachin Patney for that one)
