LIST OF COMPANIES THAT INCREASED H-1B HIRING >50% LAST 12 MONTHS
Whoever thinks the immigration push went too far forgot to check legal immigration.
Of the 100 employers with the most new H-1B approvals in FY2026, 35 increased that hiring by 50% or more year over year.

MICROSOFT GOT 1,504 PERM GREEN CARD CERTIFICATIONS IN NINE MONTHS WITH A 99.73% APPROVAL RATE
From Oct 2025 to Jun 2026, only 4 of Microsoft's PERM cases were denied.
On 1,470 decided cases, Microsoft checked yes: it had a layoff in that area and occupation within six months.
On July 6, Xbox announced 3,200 cuts, 1,600 of them right away. Weeks later JobsNow posted a San Francisco Chronicle print ad for an Activision Blizzard Media senior staff software engineer paying $241,800 to $321,060, telling applicants to mail resumes to a street address.
On Oct 8, the Labor Department suspended Microsoft from PERM indefinitely, citing active federal investigations.
Microsoft says most of its US staff are Americans and 80% of its H-1B filings were for existing employees (since “temporary” actually means forever in this program).
We must close all of these revolving door, rubber stamp programs. We will not stop being loud regardless of which party controls the government.
When we started Jobs Now we really thought the hidden jobs problem would be solved in one year.
We thought it was so egregious - Microsoft running newspaper ads asking for paper mail applications for Blizzard developers, apply to Global Mobility (Immigration), while laying off thousands of those SAME workers- that public outrage would be immediate (it was!)
And the fix was so simple - DOL writes a new regulation. PERM ads have to be posted on your website! No hiding in the back of the print newspaper! Easy! Done in 6 months!
Again and again, our government has been presented with easy ways to stop American Immigration Replacement - with or without Congress.
Ban hidden jobs.
End OPT & stop paying companies to replace new grads with foreigners.
End H4EAD.
And they haven't done it.
From the outside, it looks to us like there is a real disinterest in the core work of governing. Filling out the paperwork, changing the rules, making sure the department policies are putting AMERICANS FIRST, day in and day out as they ought to.
That will never work. Sometimes people are frustrated with the specifics we ask for - we have deliberately taken an "eat your vegetables" approach to policy. Memes and crazy pronouncements are fun, but what will actually change your lives and ours is the slow, unglamorous work of changing the rules to make sure Americans are always at the front of the line.
So we will say it again, for everyone to hear:
Ban hidden jobs.
End OPT/H4EAD/CPT - the visa alphabet soup!
For gods sake REPEAL THE H1B.
Or you will never get elected again.

BUYOUTS. LAYOFFS. OUTSOURCING. CHEAP VISA LABOR.
Google and Microsoft are just following the blueprint of what works for their shareholders.
Look at both of their stocks today.
The market rewards them. Why would they put "expensive" American jobs first?

GOOGLE IS OFFERING EMPLOYEE BUYOUTS, AND ITS NEW H-1B APPROVALS JUST DOUBLED
Google confirmed to Reuters that since June it has offered voluntary exit packages to some staff in Canada, France, Germany, Japan and Switzerland.
People familiar with the offer told Reuters the Swiss deal paid a month of salary per year worked, capped at 12 months.
In the US those offers have come in waves since January 2025, starting with the devices unit, then HR, then Search, then the business org this February.
In the fiscal year that ended Sept 30, USCIS approved 2,204 first-time H-1B petitions for Google, up from 1,050.
That's 110% growth while all employers rose about 11%, and it moved Google from No. 4 to No. 2.

AMAZON IS LAYING OFF THE SAME JOBS IT FILED THOUSANDS OF H-1B APPLICATIONS FOR
Amazon told Washington regulators on Nov 2 it is cutting 95 corporate jobs across Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Sumner, Pasco and remote.
The notice lists every title. 52 of the 95 are software engineers, product and program managers, scientists, data engineers, software managers and QA engineers.
In those same job families and cities, Amazon got 7,889 H-1B labor condition applications certified between October and June. THIS IS JUST IN WASHINGTON STATE!
12 software engineers are on the cut list. Amazon got 5,172 certified for that title family in those cities.
Nationwide Amazon had 19,924 certified over the same nine months.

Seems like a good time to remind everyone…
It doesn’t even matter who’s in office. Who controls the house or senate.
This has been and continues to be a rubber stamped program for decades.
Whatever chance Trump had of changing that, though? Gone.

FOUR WORK VISA COMMENT WINDOWS CLOSE IN THE NEXT 11 DAYS
Nov 9: OPT fees. DHS wants $70,000 for initial OPT and $30,000 for any subsequent OPT. Docket ICEB-2026-0100.

Nov 13: Deference to prior approvals. USCIS would stop deferring to its own earlier approval when an extension comes up. Docket USCIS-2026-0529.
Nov 13: The blanket L-1 petition form, I-129S. Its renewal is open for comment too.
None of these is final yet. Each closes at midnight Eastern.

270,419 H-1B APPROVED IN 9 MONTHS. 97% ACCEPTANCE. ONLY 8,231 DENIED.
That is still an open door policy, guys.
USCIS approved 97% of the H-1B petitions it decided from October through June. And those totals are still growing. Another 156,404 petitions were pending on June 30.
Renewals are the backbone of this program. Only 86,346 approvals were for new employment. The other 184,073 went to workers already on an H-1B, covering renewals and job switches.
That is more than two renewals and transfers for every new hire.
Last year showed the same pattern. In FY2025, new approvals fell while continuing approvals rose 12.9% to 291,542. That was 72% of all approvals.
The cap fight gets the headlines. Renewals keep the workforce in place.

AN ENTIRE ORCHESTRA GOES ON UNPAID LAYOFF TOMORROW
The Phoenix Symphony plays its last scheduled concert today. Starting Monday, all 66 full-time musicians are laid off without pay.
Health coverage ends Nov. 30.
The board says ticket sales and philanthropic support both rose in recent years. Operating deficits still left it unable to finish the season.
There is no date to come back.
The musicians spent the past week telling their own stories under "Face the Music."
Good sales were not enough to keep the music playing.

MICROSOFT GREW REVENUE 67% IN FOUR YEARS. HEADCOUNT BARELY MOVED.
And now they want to decrease it drastically.
Revenue was $198.3 billion in fiscal 2022. It hit $331.8 billion in fiscal 2026.
Full-time staff went from about 221,000 to about 223,000.
Revenue per employee rose from about $897,000 to about $1.49 million.
The mix shifted. Sales and marketing fell from 47,000 to 43,000. R&D grew from 73,000 to 77,000.
Operating income nearly doubled, from $83 billion to $155.2 billion.
Now Microsoft has offered buyouts to 60,000 workers. It told Business Insider it expects 3,000 or fewer to take them.

KPMG AUSTRALIA IS CUTTING AGAIN
Up to 400 more staff are out by the end of November. The consulting boss told staff they would be gone "within weeks."
This is round two. In August the firm cut 27 partners and 360 employees after consulting revenue fell 17%.
The firm is still banned from bidding on new federal work until February 2027. A whistleblower revealed confidential client information was used to win business.
Laying out the outlook, CEO Sams said AI "reshapes the way services are delivered."
The scandal came from the top. The pink slips land at the bottom.

CISCO PRESIDENT JEETU PATEL GAVE 27-YEAR-OLD PADMANABHAN KRISHNAMURTHY UNLIMITED AI TOKENS TO REWRITE ITS LEGACY CODE.
This is wild.
Cisco announced 4,000 job cuts in May. The memo said Cisco was investing in "our employees' use of AI across the company."
“I've given him unlimited tokens because he's going to refactor code," Cisco president Jeetu Patel told Fortune. "So I'm like, you can go, you can go nuts."
The goal is 98% of Cisco's legacy code in 24 months. He thinks a two-person team can do it.
He came to Cisco when it bought his startup, EzDubs, in 2025. Patel says he was "buried away in the organization doing something unstrategic."
Now leadership has him trying to be a one man show rewriting the entire Cisco legacy code.

ONE OF OHIO'S BIGGEST H-1B FILERS IS A STATE SCHOOL
Ramaswamy's Day 1 list includes a task force on visa fraud and "abuse of foreign hiring by public entities." Good. That is where a governor has real power under current law.
The Ohio State University was the top Ohio-based H-1B filer from October 2025 through June 2026, with 176 certified filings. Ohio's 14 public universities had 540 combined.
Texas froze new H-1B petitions at state agencies and public universities on January 27. Florida's Board of Governors paused new H-1B hiring at its 12 public universities on March 2.
Working with the board of governors to block state schools is something a state leader can actually do. We have our doubts this is something Vivek would ever do.
Here’s my list of Day 1 Executive Orders. They’ll be signed before midnight on January 11. Buckle up.
E.O. #1: Investigate local property tax spikes.
This executive order will direct the Department of Taxation, in consultation with the Auditor of State, to review changes in property taxes in every county, township, municipality, school district, and special district in Ohio, and surface how increased property taxes have been spent. Every jurisdiction that has seen an increase of over 100% in property taxes since 2020 will be subject to a full investigation into spending realities and needs.
E.O. #2: End sanctuary cities across Ohio.
This executive order will prohibit Ohio cities, townships, counties, or other local jurisdictions from adopting policies that would prevent or impede their law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities. Specifically, if a political subdivision does not honor detainer requests or share information as federal law allows, the local government will lose eligibility for state grants run by executive agencies, including public-safety and homeland-security grants, until it complies. The sanctuary city policy would also be referred for possible legal action.
E.O. #3: Stop new data center projects until comprehensive legislation is signed.
This executive order directs every state agency, board, and commission to pause action on any application, permit, incentive or approval for a new data center to give the General Assembly time to pass comprehensive data center legislation that includes my non-negotiable principles.
E.O. #4: Direct the Department of Medicaid to investigate waste, fraud, and abuse.
This order will direct the Department of Medicaid to apply for a Section 1115 waiver that caps Ohio's Medicaid spending, in line with Tennessee's original TennCare III waiver, which let the state keep up to 55 percent of federal savings when it spent below the cap. Under similar terms more of every dollar of fraud that Ohio stops would return to Ohio.
E.O. #5: Prioritize solving violent crimes to rapidly get criminals off our streets.
This executive order will direct the Departments of Public Safety and of Rehabilitation and Corrections to prioritize violent crime clearance rates in discretionary funding available to support local law enforcement. Tools including advanced forensic science will enable local law enforcement to increase the number of violent crimes solved from the current 34% level to aggressively eliminate violent criminality in Ohio cities.
E.O. #6: Comprehensively review all existing state contracts to root out wasteful spending.
This executive order will order a review of every executive-branch contract paid in-part or in-full from the General Revenue Fund. The Department of Administrative Services, working with the Office of Budget and Management, will review each contract's legal basis, necessity, performance, alternatives, and the cost of ending it versus continuing it, then recommend continuation or termination.
E.O. #7: Establish an inter-agency anti-fraud task force, with direct accountability to the Governor.
This executive order will establish an inter-agency task force, reporting directly to the Governor, focused on combating various forms of fraud including, but not limited to: Medicaid fraud, benefits fraud, and child care fraud; visa fraud; voter registration fraud; trucking fraud; foreign CDL licensure; and abuse of foreign hiring by public entities. The anti-fraud task force will consist of experts from across state government and the private sector and may include representatives from the Auditor of State, Secretary of State, and Attorney General.

PROTON SAYS 2026 IS ITS LAST YEAR HIRING ENGINEERS
Proton is the Swiss company behind Proton Mail and Proton VPN. It sells privacy as the alternative to Big Tech.
CEO Andy Yen wrote it to staff in Slack: "This will be the last year that we hire engineers." Starting next year, he said, Proton hires product managers to build things with AI.
The CTO says AI wrote 90% of Proton's code in October, and a staffer who asked for security testing was told it was "loser thinking." Employees now face re-interviews on their AI use.
An internal document says Proton is behind its revenue target and calls the company "underperforming." 🤔
New: you think you know Proton, but you really don't.
I spoke to 8 current employees, got Slack chats, meeting audio, and an AI manifesto written by its CTO.
“That’s bullshit and loser thinking,” Yen wrote. “Stop thinking always of how to be slower, and focus more on how to be faster.”
CEO Andy Yen critiques AI in public. But inside, he is pushing everyone to use AI, even those with security concerns 404media.co/manifestos-fear-…

Last October it cut 226 people, also 6%. Two Octobers in a row.
Media jobs now last as long as the format does.
