Happy to announce that Whop is now worth 4.25 Wendy鈥檚!
Whop has raised $200M in Series D funding at a $5.1B valuation, backed by @sequoia and @shopify.
It really feels like we are barely touching the tip of the iceberg in a market larger than anyone can imagine.
We first launched Whop as a better way for us to sell sneaker bots, one of the most niche types of desktop software out there.
Total TAM? Probably $20,000 per day.
Who cares, tiny market.
But, what people discounted is the idea that there were actually 70,000 other markets exactly like that one.
Beyond the investment itself, I am especially excited to welcome legendary silicon valley investor @dougleone to our board of directors. Doug and the sequoia team are nothing but a brilliant, resourceful, and principled group of people.
My co-founder Cameron and I started building on Shopify when we were 13 years old. Shopify is one of the most impactful all-in-one cloud ecosystems ever created; @tobi has pioneered modern entrepreneurship the way we know it and we are thrilled to have him in our corner.
We have a tenet at Whop to be the dumbest in the room and I am very grateful that this has recently become a lot easier.
We are focused on markets, scale economies, and progressive media. If that is up your alley, please message me directly.
The $200M raised will support our expansion as we build economic infrastructure for the next century, continuing on our mission of delivering everyone an income.

@AnthropicAI any statement on the obvious artificial model degradation before a new model gets released? Opus has been horrible today and everyone knows it鈥檚 to make tomorrows fable release feel like a major breakthrough. Can you at least discount the models when you neuter them?
Fable 5.1 is probably going to be 5% smarter than fable 5 at release but 25% smarter than current fable. You call tell when they are close to releasing a new model because the current models get nerfed into the ground to make the successor feel groundbreaking
Wish @OpenAI would release an actually capable model so I can ditch @AnthropicAI and rip my 60b monthly tokens somewhere else. Getting really sick of them lately.
Every time fable classifiers me I just switch to sol because who in their right mind wants to use that tasteless joke of a model called opus.
Classifier has been to broad and there have been 0 improvements. But please spend more time on watermarking model output!
If you knew how much I鈥檓 spending on tokens every month you would be alarmed by this just saying. I鈥檓 pretty sure I鈥檓 not the only one who is switching off because of this.

@AnthropicAI Fable is way too bad for the classifier to be this aggressive. Adding a new auth method to a website? We鈥檒l fuck you that鈥檚 too dangerous. If you can鈥檛 run complex tasks on fable what鈥檚 the point of the model to begin with? Going to see what codex has to offer.
Whop shipped 6% yield to 21M users. Most of them have no idea it's DeFi.
If you haven't heard of @whop, they're like Shopify, Patreon, and Udemy rolled into one for the internet generation.
21M users, $3B+ in payouts, growing 255% year over year.
Their new Treasury product enables balances to earn up to 6% on @aave through @veda_labs via an integrated self-custodial wallet on @Plasma.
The user just sees a number going up every second in their Whop dashboard, with zero crypto friction.
Classic DeFi mullet.
While congress debates whether stablecoins should be allowed to pay yield, Whop shipped yield through lending markets, sidestepping the debate entirely.
Everything is a bank.
Any platform with float can offer yield as a feature.
This is the same threat to deposits that banks have been lobbying against, except this one is less in their control.
Users are on Whop because that's where they earn. Now they can grow their balances there too.
It's only a matter of time before Whop enables spend (cards) and credit (they can already see your revenue).
This is the consumer equivalent of merchant banking, and banks will need to step up the utility of their offerings in order to compete.
Why is SSO an enterprise feature? Did some identity provider decide to charge extra for it and it鈥檚 being passed to the customer?
You want SSO for your docs hosting platform? Let me connect you to our sales team!?!
Yo @AnthropicAI what鈥檚 wrong with 4.6? Quality is in shambles, it鈥檚 constantly lying and just hasty. Sticking to 4.5 for now but please do better with 5.0
