Relebohile Mofokeng is 100th percentile for chances created in Belgium. And 94th for goals.
Cassius Mailula is 93rd and 99th in the PSL.
Two tens, basically the same shape, and Pitso has both 🇿🇦

Luthando Vena is one of the most exciting young players to come out of Stellenbosch.
At 19, he has played every league minute at left centre-back this season.
No PSL centre-back makes more interceptions per 90, and he's in the top 10% for recoveries and ground duels won.

I enjoy this account man. I trust you can do the same for Mbatha. I see a lot of variation in his game currently.
The Evolution of Allende.
Five seasons at Mamelodi Sundowns: from an advanced, left-sided midfielder to the player who controls the whole middle of the pitch, picking up the ball in both half-spaces and dropping deep to start attacks.

Wandile Duba hat-trick against TS Galaxy:
Mmodi's cut-back, the rebound after Vilakazi's penalty was saved, then Shabalala's ball from the halfway line.

A lot of you have asked what "per 90" means when we compare players.
A per 90 stat takes a player's numbers and scales them to one full 90-minute game, so players who get different amounts of game time can be compared fairly.

Union SG have interestingly utilised Relebohile Mofokeng as a forward.
He has played 31% of his minutes at centre forward and 25% as a second striker this season, with 49% of his touches in the final third.
It's another option for Bafana Bafana in attack.
Experience or youth? Every PSL squad by average age
Sundowns (28.2) lean on proven experience. AmaZulu (25.5) and Pirates (25.8) are backing young talent.
Two routes to success in the Betway Premiership.

Despite an injury crisis, Kaizer Chiefs have made the most of the players available.
Midfield leads the way: AM A+, CM A, DM A-. Cross has stepped up and the back four grades B+.
Room to improve up front (CF C+), on the wings (B) and in goal (B-).

Simphiwe Selepe's pass links for Pirates.
87% passes completion. He's the go-to outlet in build-up, linking up most with Seema, the right-back and Mokobodi.
Calm on the ball and already a key connector in midfield.

Brayan León's first 9 league games, last season v this season:
2025-26: 5 goals from 2.8 xG
2026-27: 3 goals from 3.3 xG
Same chances (0.54 v 0.53 xG per 90). The difference is the finishing.

Sundowns adjustment came in the way of dropping Matuludi deep and forming a partial back 3 on build up
When the ball is on the right side this allowed a 3v2 numerical advantage against the man press. From there onwards it’s simple rondo drill to get out the press
Sundowns build-up has long been one of the hardest structures in the PSL to press, and few teams have found a consistent answer. In the opening 10 minutes of the MTN8 final, Orlando Pirates offered one.
They pressed the goalkeeper, went man-to-man on the two central midfielders and closed off the half-spaces. That left Sundowns with two options, play wide into a pressing trap or go long, and both led to a loss of possession.

How Sundowns build from the back
A 2-2 with Ndamane & Khoza at the back, Mokoena & Allende in front.
When a centre-back steps out, Mokoena drops into his spot and it's a 3-2. Allende works the ball-side half-space.
One midfielder, two shapes.

Sundowns are a team built on the basic principle of attacking space. Mokoena is the one who creates it
He drops into the back line whenever a defender pushes up, turning a 2-2 into a back three.
One player, constantly reshaping the build-up
Who replaces Teboho Mokoena at the base of Sundowns midfield?
Thabo Cele wins the ball back and dominates his duels.
Bathusi Aubaas brings passing volume (93rd percentile), loses the ball less, and is in better recent form (7.20).
