Tourette's with coprolalia (10-15% of cases) is neurological fuckery. Disinhibited brain circuits grab the most primed, taboo-loaded phrase from context and blast it out. No filter, no choice. Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo in the spotlight? Black men trigger racial-taboo content already lurking in his tic repertoire. Faulty basal ganglia plus dopamine chaos equals involuntary n-word shout. Zero intent, zero "soul" reveal. Just broken wiring doing broken-wiring shite by throwing words he knows but doesn't want to use. I've witnessed it firsthand supporting a bloke with severe TS: my Greek features, name, accent became "Greek cunt," body hair "hairy bastard." Automatic, context-primed bollocks from disinhibited loops. He was trying to fight it and the suppression made worse. Zero malice. He was a good guy who had 0 anti-Greek biases. That's exactly why plenty of Black folk with Tourette's come to John's defense. They live this nightmare daily, know these tics aren't hidden bigotry erupting, and call out the same mechanics. It's the disability, full stop. Nobody's saying Black people should shrug off hearing the n-word. Pain lingers regardless. But slapping "subconscious racism" on every involuntary tic is ableist shite dressed up as anti-racism. It erases TS reality and stigmatises people already battling enough. The BBC should've edited it out. However, turning a neurological event into deliberate racism or double-standard excuses is nonsense. Ableism, no matter how much you try to cover it in nice terms, still ableism.
