RIP Patrick Stewart. True legend. Captain Picard, Professor X and maybe the funniest TV cameo ever with Ricky Gervais on “Extras” as himself.
Absolute class act. Sad one for sure.

Just heard that Steve Pappas passed away tonight in OC. Steve & Tommy Dickerson opened the Original Greene Turtle 50 yrs ago. He was also a great lax & soccer player at Salisbury St. but was a great husband, father & tremendous friend to so many & an icon on the Shore.

There are 12 states that allow districts to charge a fee to ride the school bus (usually $1-2/day) which pushes a lot of parents to the drop off line. The public school district I'm in has gone farther and eliminated all non-special ed buses.
As someone who has a complex relationship with cars and loves mass transit, I’ve only seen a handful of democrats who genuinely pushed anti-car policies. Democrats love cars as much as the next person. America is 100% built for cars, with only a few exceptions.
parking in designated areas only. Rangers to issue big tickets. The NPS makes a lot of money. Shuttle busses from outside areas to trailheads and overlooks.

1am Paris. Drunk in a bar singing karaoke with French locals. What they’re not talking about? Riots. I tweeted that I didn’t see it today, and some folks lost their minds.
Wanna be offended. You can. Wanna live in fear/mad? You can.
Respect your stance but personally, not me.

BREAKING MAJOR RESCUE OPERATION UNDERWAY OF THE NORTHWEST OF IRELAND
A major search and rescue operation is underway of the northwest coast of Ireland around the center of #stormboelo this evening following distress calls from big Russian tanker carrying diesel.
The UK Coastguard is coordinating a response to an Inmarsat-C Distress Alert from vessel MYRA.
This potentially one of the Russian ships heading to the USA with Diesel . I hope there is no leaks as it would be a environmental disaster.
The Irish air corps and Coastguard don't have the capabilities to provide cover due to the range the tanker is out
𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 & 𝗦𝗔𝗥 𝗔𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧
Given the extreme distance from mainland coastal stations (beyond typical shore-based rotary SAR operational radius without offshore refueling) and current sea states, direct surface intervention by coastal rescue craft is technically constrained.
Standard Search and Rescue protocol in this scenario relies on:Alerting nearby commercial traffic via GMDSS broadcast.Deploying long-range fixed-wing maritime patrol aircraft (such as RAF P-8A Poseidon) for top-cover monitoring and communications relay if required.
This rescue operation is ongoing as off 20:57

A distress alert from tanker MYRA led UK Coastguard to alert nearby vessels for assistance but no major rescue was underway; the ship continued sailing and trackers reported it in ballast (empty), not carrying diesel, en route to Egypt.

lol. I don’t think his uncle is Sir Robert Watson Watt. (Or one of the many other folks credited with “inventing” radar). Anyway, how did no one ask him about Turnstile and how their crowd is bigger than anything he can draw?
Trump: "My uncle invented radar! Can you believe it?"
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Donald Trump's uncle did not invent radar. The "first practical radar system" was patented by Sir Robert Watson-Watt, who built on the work of others such as Heinrich Hertz and Christian Huelsmeyer.
