Prayer: Lord, Help Me Put the Milk Down 😂🙏 Heavenly Father, You know my heart. You know how much I love the people You’ve placed in my life. You know how difficult it is for me to watch someone struggle when I think I might be able to help. And Lord, You know how quickly I can grab that milk jug without asking You first. 😂 Sometimes my intentions are good, but my wisdom is lacking. Sometimes what I call helping is really fear. Sometimes what I call protecting is actually controlling. And sometimes my anxiety puts on an apron, rolls up its sleeves, and starts trying to do a job You never assigned me. Father, teach me the difference. Give me wisdom to recognize when someone needs my help and when they simply need room to grow. Teach me when to speak and when to listen. When to step forward and when to step back. When to carry someone’s burden and when to trust You as they learn to carry their own responsibilities. And Lord, when I struggle to release the people I love, remind me of something my heart desperately needs to remember: You love them even more than I do. You see what I cannot see. You know what I cannot know. And You are working in ways I may never understand. Help me trust Your hands more than my own. Forgive me for the times I’ve made a bigger mess while trying to fix something. Thank You for being patient with me when I come standing before You, covered in spilled milk, saying, “But Lord, I was just trying to help!” 😂 Thank You for never giving up on this well-meaning, occasionally overzealous child of Yours. Help me remember that love doesn’t always mean doing something. Sometimes love means praying. Sometimes love means waiting. Sometimes love means standing nearby without taking over. And sometimes love means trusting You enough to leave the milk jug right where it belongs. So before I rush into the next situation, remind me to ask: “Lord, is this mine to do?” And give me the courage to obey Your answer, even when that answer is to do nothing but pray and trust. Because, Father, I am finally beginning to understand something: My hands do not have to be involved in everything for Your hands to be at work. And that’s a beautiful kind of freedom.
