EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk came to Donald Trump with the plan to throttle Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite internet network, sources have told the Telegraph.
The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries.
‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement.
But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe.
The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown.
‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.

Check out our new AI Governance Lab at @Stanford directed by legends @ElencticAI and @persily. We’re going to do some really cool work on A(G)I policy in the coming months. Starting with Rob’s appointment to @CAgovernor’s expert task force on AI. aigovlab.stanford.edu

it is kind of insane how basically every policy expert in DC, Republican or Democrat, thinks we need stronger controls on chip exports to China, but because NVIDIA/Huang have so much power we're actively sabotaging our whole "beat China on AI" project

Wait so the company (@OpenAI) founded to make AI safe and beneficial for everyone is in the news every day for rogue hacking incidents.
The company (@AnthropicAI) that splintered off from it because it wanted to prioritize safety more strongly has its employees in the news saying the company is recklessly gambling with human extinction.
Meanwhile the company (@Meta) with an abysmal societal track-record and no orientation toward safety goes ahead and releases a consumer-facing AI agent that actually seems to work well.
Did I get that right?

New post: going into our investigation of the HF attack (before Black Hat), I was very wrong about what basically happened. This incident was far more serious than I expected, and far more serious than previous documented misalignment incidents. planned-obsolescence.org/p/t…

It’s hard to imagine many people having a bigger impact than Dolly Parton. Born in a one-room cabin, she earned 11 Grammys and an Emmy, built a business empire, helped millions of kids learn to read, and — as if that wasn’t enough — helped accelerate the research that led to the Moderna COVID vaccine. What a life. Michelle and I are thinking of Dolly’s family and her many, many fans.

At some point Dems are going to have to grapple with the reality that in the face of all of Trump and Republicans’ manifest horribleness and incompetence, people aren’t rushing toward the Democrats. If you think the DSA stuff is helping, you’ve never talked to a swing voter.

Happy 80th birthday to my friend George W. Bush!
Your friendship—and that of your father and your entire family—has been one of the great gifts of my life. It has always reminded me that long before we’re politicians, we’re fellow Americans and, above all, human beings.
And for the next month, I’m especially grateful to finally have someone older than me! Wishing you many more years of good health, happiness, and friendship.
Our country is stronger when we remember that what unites us is greater than what divides us.
