It's been just over two years since my last post on here, and the ongoing actions by this site's ownership have only reinforced that this was the right choice for me. wyrm.org/blog/takingitback.x…

I'm deleting the twitter app from my phone and plan on weaning myself off of this site in the coming weeks. I'll still check in occasionally, but I'll be paying a lot more attention to wyrm.org, fediverse.monster, email, and whatever else I can find
Twitter is working on a plan that would force users to opt in to targeted ads, removing a years-old privacy setting that gives users more control over their data, according to a report in the Platformer newsletter. But that's not all! The new strategy may mandate that you share your locatiojn information and let Twitter sell your data to third-parties. What's more the company may compel your consent for targeted advertising using your contacts and the phone number you provided for two-factor authentication. These aren't just brilliant ideas; they are also almost certainly illegal.

Image of a Craigslist ad titled, "Nintendo switch bundle with lots of extras". There is an image which is clearly a screenshot taken from an iPhone of a bunch of Nintendo Switch accessories. The description (with the last line highlighted by me) reads: Son is wanting to sell his system. The bundle includes: Nintendo Switch V1 32GB with power brick Charge doc, hdmi cord, 2 joycons with straps, 3 grips, 2 pro con thumb grips Comes with original cardboard casing

Don't mind me, I'm just applying some cash donations that came my way. The marathon is over (and we made it through the whole 25 hours!), but you can still sponsor us at rejectedscreens.net/ if you want to. Donations benefit @RileyChildrens
