Bedford town centre has an active Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) logged with Defra since 2009 In fact there were two prior to that which the 2009 instance supercedes) that the levels of oxides of nitrogen in the air in the area below has consistently breached gov standards

#bedshour The BFARe campaign is petitioning for a re-run of the original 2019 public consultation into East West Rail from Bedford to Cambridge.   The re-consultation Needs thorough notification to all households affected. It must focus on the best environmental outcome.

The flawed @eastwestrail Route selection consultation failed to adequately communicate with many affected people, missed key Parishes from the Consultee list. It did not use a level playing field regarding costs which also changed radically during the process @BedsHour #bedshour

People living in the town think it won’t effect them but it will. Years of building around the station plus added traffic and pollution on the roads. Our campaign is growing to get @eastwestrail @BedfordTweets to re think the route .
