The scene inside was good too! The 1st course included the following salads: dressed red sauerkraut, fermented cauliflower & carrot, roasted eggplant, beetroot & walnut, chicken & pineapple, Caprese, and Greek. Ministering brings many blessings!
Bro tries to convince us that he's actually read the Book of Mormon by grossly misrepresenting the narrative! Proof once again that such posts are meant for ignorant audiences only.
Replying to @MormOdyssey @ArtaConworlder
I’ve read it actually. It’s about a conflict between the Nephites and the Lamanites. The Nephites are good and pure and do nothing wrong, and the Lamanites are dumb barbarians who can only destroy. There’s no religious message, Smith just wrote a mediocre fantasy story.
It rained quite heavily whilst I was visiting one of my ministering families this evening, but before it did, we all got to enjoy this cracker of a sunset from their back verandah.
I travelled to the temple with 2 mates last night so that we could attend today. I've never before seen our temple so busy on a Tuesday morning. Both endowment sessions were nearly full, and although I had a booking, initiatory was so thronged that we only completed 2 ordinances.
More fulltime missionaries with smart-looking facial hair in photos taken both at a recent mission leadership council and a zone conference (same mission as below):
Tonight’s food dilemma: a full serve of leftover basmati rice but too little veg curry to go with. Solution: curried fried rice filled with fresh coriander, spring onions, and chilli chutney, topped with fresh tomatoes and a perfectly runny fried egg.
I picked up our professional painter for church this morning. He was outside waiting when I arrived. As he got in the car, I could see that he was listening to General Conference on his mobile. He said he'd been listening after work every day for a week. Baptised soon, I think!
We had 5 non-members in our sacrament meeting when it started this morning but only 4 when it ended because the young man who was baptised Sunday evening, 27 September, was confirmed today! He should be ordained a priest next Sunday.
A speaker in his sacrament meeting sermon this morning shared a deeply sacred experience that touched me deeply. It's too long for one post, so I'll create a short 🧵:
One year later, the mum showed up with both children. In her poverty, she also brought a live chicken, a bag of yams, and something else I didn't hear. This act of gratitude, he said, surpassed in pure value every academic accolade he had ever received.
Our area presidency are creating a national advisory council to inform and shape government relations, public affairs, and messaging. I've been asked to serve on this council. It sounds a bit intense, but I'm heaps relieved it isn't one of the many things that had me terrified!
