When I was a member of the su executive and board, it was clear that the board and executive could make decisions around budgets and make budgets work. The elected members should show leadership and just fund the paper. If they dont want to, they should show their hand and say so

An update: our petition to #SaveTheBeaver has amassed over 600 signatures, including support from current students and alumni that fondly remember the newspaper as an integral part of their student experience during their time at LSE decades ago.
We have now forwarded our petition — and your support — to the LSESU Board of Trustees. The ball is now in their court: they must take action to amend the bye-laws and save The Beaver.

The beaver was an incredibly productive interface for engaging with the LSE community, when I there as Features editor. I also saw it give many students serious exposure to the world of journalism (and beyond). The @lsesu can do better.

Student journalism is a huge net positive for society. It holds important institutions (in this case, LSE) to account, and provides an invaluable training ground and springboard for the next generation of journalists
