14 February 2013. Reeva Steenkamp (aged 29), was shot dead by Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius. He claimed he mistook her for an intruder. Pistorius was found guilty of culpable homicide, but in 2015 this was changed to murder. He was released on parole in January 2024.
