إن امتلاك القنبلة النووية هو ضمان بقاء النظام الإيراني، وما دام هذا النظام في السلطة، فلن يتخلى عن السعي إلى امتلاكها، سواء بالمفاوضات أو من دونها. لكن إذا كانت المفاوضات تعني مواصلة سياسة تقديم التنازلات للنظام، فإنها ستجعله أكثر جرأة وإصراراً على امتلاك القنبلة النووية.
لقد حان الوقت للوقوف إلى جانب الشعب الإيراني الذي يريد إسقاط النظام، بدلاً من بذل جهود عبثية للحفاظ عليه.
وفي جميع الأحوال، يجب أن يكون وقف الإعدامات ووقف قتل المحتجين الإيرانيين بنداً أساسياً في أي مفاوضات، وأي علاقات دبلوماسية أو تجارية، وأي اتفاق دولي.

Today, retirees across Iran, including Tehran, Ahvaz, Shush, and Rasht, took to the streets again, chanting:
" Extreme oppression and injustice have brought us to the streets!"
"The government’s legacy: Looting the people’s pockets!"
Protesters directly condemned the oppressive and plundering clerical regime as the root cause of poverty, inflation, and unemployment.
The only way forward is protest and uprising.

Acquiring a nuclear bomb is essential to this regime’s survival; so long as it remains in power, it will never abandon this ambition—with or without negotiations. However, if diplomacy merely continues a policy of concession, it will only embolden the regime’s nuclear pursuits.
Now is the time to stand with the Iranian people, who demand the overthrow of this regime, rather than engaging in futile attempts to preserve it.
In any event, the immediate cessation of executions and the killing of Iranian protesters must be a non-negotiable prerequisite in all diplomatic talks, trade relations, and international agreements.

The mullahs have committed countless crimes to stay in power; from the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988 to the repeated slaughter of protesters during recent uprisings.

La magnitud del uso de la pena de muerte en Irán por motivos políticos es alarmante. Amnistía Internacional registró al menos 2,159 ejecuciones en 2025, la cifra anual más alta que ha documentado en el país desde 1981.
En 2026, al menos 34 personas han sido ejecutadas en relación con las protestas de enero, incluidas cinco en apenas una semana, entre el 30 de septiembre y el 5 de octubre.
La información que he recibido revela además una dimensión especialmente preocupante para mi mandato. Al menos 46 presos políticos y manifestantes habrían sido ejecutados desde el 19 de marzo de 2026: 37 fueron detenidos durante protestas y nueve fueron perseguidos en relación con una supuesta afiliación a la oposición. Más de 100 personas permanecerían condenadas a muerte.
Delitos como baghi (rebelión armada), moharebeh (enemistad contra Dios) y efsad-e fel-arz (corrupción en la tierra) están siendo utilizados en casos en los que la protesta, la expresión política y la supuesta afiliación a la oposición se vinculan con cargos que pueden implicar la pena de muerte.
La historia hace imposible ignorar estas señales de alerta. En 1988, alrededor de 30,000 presos políticos fueron ejecutados o desaparecidos forzadamente en uno de los capítulos más oscuros de la historia reciente de Irán. El ex Relator Especial de la ONU Javaid Rehman concluyó posteriormente que las ejecuciones sumarias, arbitrarias y extrajudiciales, así como las desapariciones forzadas, constituyeron crímenes de lesa humanidad.
Irán debe detener inmediatamente las ejecuciones, conmutar las condenas a muerte, revisar los casos que no cumplan con las garantías de un juicio justo e investigar las denuncias de tortura.
La opinión política, la crítica, la protesta pacífica y la asociación nunca deben convertirse en delitos castigados con la pena de muerte.
