Being a wedding photographer comes with a responsibility beyond making beautiful pictures.
Every day, we document commitment, family, friendship, vulnerability and people choosing each other. That should mean something in how we carry ourselves even when the camera is off.
There’s an unspoken power in photography. We can shape perceptions through what we show, what we hide and the stories we choose to tell. And because we have that power, we should be careful not to misuse it. That power should never be used to harm people, manipulate narratives or create a version of ourselves that isn’t true.
So, if we have chosen to make a living documenting love, best we should also try to embody the values that come with it.
We represent an institution we’ve been trusted to document and that responsibility should follow us, even when the camera is off.
